PISCES & PSYCHE

Personal and Collective Psyche transforms as outer planets change signs and geometric relationships. Uranus was the only outer planet to pass through Pisces (1919–1928) in the 20th Century. Uranus’s eighty-four-year cycle was completed when he returned to Pisces from 2003–2011. Uranus (destroyer) in Pisces and Neptune (visionary) in Aquarius are masters of illusion and delusion. Pluto in Capricorn transforms religious, social, economic, and cultural paradigms. Uranus moved into Taurus in 2019. An unstable economy rattled collective psyche as it destabilized markets through fluctuating interest rates and sudden unpredictable changes.

Comparing and contrasting Ideologies from 1919 and 2003 are both alarming and enlightening. If hindsight is 2020, it’s 2023. What has happened and not happened?

1919 WORLD SERIES SCANDAL

1919 ~ Worst baseball scandal (Black Sox) in history occurred when a grand jury brought indictments against eight players from the White Sox who were accused of throwing the 1919 World Series. They were eventually found not guilty.

2003 ~ Complicit use of illicit steroids was the biggest scandal in modern baseball.

Bottle of bonded medicinal whiskey

For Medical Purposes Only”

1919 ~ Eighteenth Amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors, which encouraged distilling, brewing, and bootlegging.

2003 ~ George W. Bush prohibited Medicare from negotiating drug prices. Black markets for pharmaceutical and illicit drugs from India, Canada, and Mexico thrived. Cannabis became medicinal.

1921 ~ Formal investigations into the Teapot Dome oil scandals were initiated.

2003 ~ USA invaded Iraq under false pretenses to secure oil resources.

1924 ~ Worst tornado in US history obliterated 35 towns in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois.

2005 ~ Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

Gaia needs us to turn bad intentions and habits into healthy strategies and actions.

1919 ~ World War I ended; consumerism, immigration, discrimination, extremism, and fundamentalism began and grew. Uranus in Pisces, Neptune in Leo, and Pluto in Cancer combined to impel four million steel workers and miners to walk off their job to protest “too many work hours” and “inhumane pay”.

2003 ~ Increased wage inequality between workers at the top, middle, and bottom resulted in less wages and compensation for workers. Despite increased productivity, real wages and compensation continue to stagnate. Haves have. Have nots have not.

Four conservative Republican Presidents (Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, and George W Bush) held office with Uranus in Pisces. “Silent Cal” Coolidge, 30th President (b. 7 / 4 1872) exclaimed, “Biological laws tell us that certain divergent people will not mix or blend (Inferior Races of Asia).” Coolidge preached, “The business of America is business”.

Government and business were in bed together. Illicit affairs wielded temporary and absolute power over tightly woven webs of political, social, and cultural fabric. Plutocrats seduced, then betrayed us for profit. One embodiment of our addiction and dependence on credit and corporations is ‘Citizens United’, who has our permission to make decisions about us for us. Winning through Intimidation works, but Hubris has Karmic Consequences!

Mission accomplished?

George W Bush began his ‘War on Terror’ when Uranus entered Pisces in 2003. By wrecking Iraqi culture and disabling their energy infrastructure, we pilfered and profited from Iraq’s resources. Dick Cheney’s Halliburton bought, sold, and traded Iraq as a proud sponsor of and powerful benefactor from the war in Iraq.

Security for airports and seaports was put in the hands of chosen special interest contractors. Public Health Care was sacrificed on the altars of Health Insurance Czars and Pharmaceutical CEO’s. Social Security, based in faith, truth, and justice, was nearly privatized. Abuse of power, greed, fear, apathy, loss of faith, and control are threats to our good health and the well-being of our constitution, democracy, and planet.

In 1929, loss of faith in our government and economy infected our psyche, catalyzing a devastating stock market crash! In 2008, President George W Bush demonstrated how to create out-of-control federal, domestic, and military spending by giving government bailouts to financial and auto industries and funding nebulous federal mandates like educational reforms that transformed substantial surpluses into huge deficits. Paradoxically, Democrats dominated the Senate and the House from 2007~ 09 during the banking and housing financial scandals.

Before the great Stock Market Crash, Uranus in Pisces transmuted traditional ideologies from thrift and austerity to mass consumerism, addiction, and unobstructed credit. Two out of three Americans had electricity, refrigerators, and washing machines. Henry Ford created green and maroon as well as black cars. Spending on recreation tripled. Mass tastes stimulated and cultivated markets for Rice Krispies, Lender’s Bagels, Mounds Bars, Betty Crocker, Peter Pan Peanut Butter, and many other super marketable products.

Credit and consumerism created the illusion of an easy and convenient life. Uranus in Pisces inspired movie audiences to out attend church audiences. Movie houses, chain stores, and radio advertising proliferated. ‘Modern Romance Magazine’ challenged moral codes. Critics believed consumerism was driving Americans into a soulless existence. Writer Sinclair Lewis highlighted humanity’s illusions and delusions while blaming mass production and consumption for “having created a bloodless, loveless, and standardized world”. “He who dies rich, dies disgraced” Andrew Carnegie.

In 1925, the KKK released 40,000 hooded members to invade Washington DC. Their resurgence targeted African Americans, Immigrants, Catholics, and Jews. New laws reduced the stream of migrants to a trickle while congress hindered immigrants based on quotas of 150,000 new immigrants yearly. The KKK endorsed Donald Trump for President in Nov of 2016. We did nothing but talk, blame, and continue scraping for pennies at the bottom of the barrel. Money talks. Bullshit walks. We need to build more and better bridges, not walls.

Creationism ignored modern science. The opposition between Uranus (science) and Neptune (religion) was clouded by Pisces. Tennessee legislators voted it unlawful for any teacher in a state supported school, “to teach any theory that denies the story of man’s creation as taught in the bible”. Man descending from apes was unacceptable. John Scopes, high school biology teacher, fought for Darwin’s ‘theory of evolution’. Science and truth lost to politics and religion in the “Scopes Monkey Trial”. Denial of Science is even worse now.

I need another yacht…

No rich child left behind. Poor folk are workers, soldiers, and followers. How many yachts and jets do our saviors and persecutors need before they’ll help humanity?

The German Bauhaus School of Architecture’s ‘less is more’ design philosophy influenced architecture and product design on a global scale. Religious culture manipulated school curriculum to cleanse obscenity, promote censorship, and discriminate against race and sexuality in literature and theater. In 1984, Intelligent Design became Creationism. ‘Intelligent Design’ was once about saving materials and money for manufacturers. As an industrial designer, waste was not a problem for me, because clean-up and disposal were someone else’s problem, usually disposed of thoughtlessly, hastily, and carelessly. I depleted more than my share of our planet’s natural resources for ego and fashion. It’s easy to rationalize and compartmentalize choices and actions and ignore consequences. I retired from polluting the planet and became the ‘Guru of Garbage’. Landfills are overflowing with award winning design! Few people realize how much ability each and every one of us has to affect and infect our future with Chronic Spiritual Cancer, which is caused by Humanity’s Lack of Foresight, Consumption, Waste, Greed, Ignorance, Hate, and Fear.

‘Intelligent design’ is not ‘smart design’. Smart designers create useful products and services using sustainable resources, efficient energy production, and fewer pollutants. More waste is recycled or reused in constructive projects that enhance nature and humanity. We must shift our paradigms from lying, denying, and hiding truth, to seeing, understanding, accepting, and embracing reality. Hate can be transformed into love by letting go of fear. The handwriting is on the wall and the time is now!

Common sense is not good sense. Denying science is not ‘intelligent Design’. We interpret fake news and decipher deceptive politics. All news taken in context and by degree is ideologically corrupt, philosophically bankrupt, and spiritually blind on one level or another. ‘It’s not what you do, but what you get away with that matters’.

PRACTICING WHAT THEY’RE PREACHING?

Real darkness is not funny. Pundits parody greed, prejudice, hate, and hypocrisy. Emperors think they know what’s best for the rest of us as they weave naked warps of ‘no love’ with gilded wefts of ‘tough love’. Where are our healthy role models? Being healthier, happier, more loving, and tolerant of ourselves, each other, and world is a mission and mandate that makes good sense. We must choose leaders who have courage, strength, wisdom, and grace to do what’s best for everyone and everything!

Much has happened since 1919. More than a Century has passed. Neptune returned to Pisces April 4, 2011 and will remain until April 1, 2025. Neptune blurs boundaries, distorts vision, creates illusion, and promotes delusion. Pisces embodies physical, mental, and emotional endings that can catalyze new beginnings. The dusk of denial is the dawn of truth. Bad behavior has become pandemic. Healthy behavior is the cure.

If hindsight is 2020, how come attitudes didn’t change. Why must we lose what we value to value what we had? History repeats in its desperate and disparate attempt to teach us to stop learning in hard ways. Neptune in Pisces embodies infinite shades of gray from the Brightest Spiritual White to the Blackest Death. Must we die to be reborn?

In 2008, Pluto entered Capricorn. With help from Uranus in Pisces and Neptune in Aquarius, Pluto began transforming traditional ideologies and beliefs. Humanity needs to focus attention on harnessing and directing sustainable energy, cultivating values over money, refining communications, upgrading infrastructure, improving public and private transportation, providing healthcare for all, encouraging honest relationships, choosing healthy philosophies, practicing bi-partisan politics, having clear purpose, deciding our personal and collective destinies, encouraging creativity, and being more spiritual. Practicing Courage, Strength, Wisdom, and Grace will lead to the Palace of Good Health and Happiness.

2011. Uranus in Aries, Neptune in Pisces, and Pluto in Capricorn, symbolizes greed, wealth, power, and the illusion and delusion of Self Importance. Huge footprints do not mean huge hearts. The pathology of power fosters denial of truth. A sense of futility and apathy nourishes the disillusion of the free will of 99%. Fear and terror poisoned the Kool-Aid and too many naive and unsuspecting folk are mindlessly guzzling it.

EXPELIOSIS!

WARNING!!!

Unhealthy for 99% +

Nonsense trumps good sense. Money trumps values. Religion trumps spirituality. Climate denial trumps science. Health insurance companies trump healthcare. HMO’s, pharmaceutical companies, and medical profiteers trump everyone. Plutocrats trump politicians. Politicians trump circumstances that require habitual filling of partisan vacancies and attention to profits. Privatized prisons trump poor black prisoners. Prison hatcheries trump frantic followers who foster fundamentalist ideologies and favor fanatical behaviors. The human race has become a race against bad shit happening too predictably and often.

Absolute power corrupts! Choose your cause. Make your decisions. Take your actions. When you’re lucky, give back as much as you can. Make real differences! Hubris has taken down every demagogue in history. Karma manifests when outer and inner worlds collide and divide! If 2020 was the best year for ‘Hindsight’, what’s our responsibility now?

Get your LOCK HIM UP ex-Presidential Medal while supplies last!

How can humanity become mentally and emotionally stable? We can send electric cars into space, but can we transform mass transportation, build better bridges, create well planned tunnels, and less walls? What are the best ways to renew our topsoil, clean our water, freshen our air, and make the smartest uses of our energy resources?

Conceive the inconceivable. Healthy intent, well thought out plans, and right use of free will creates huge possibilities and probabilities. As we help ourselves, we help others. Can we plan what to do next to love and protect our personal and planetary health and well-being?

Love, truth, and justice come with moral obligations and ethical responsibilities. Physical and spiritual wealth is best spent planning and laying strong foundations for whole, healthy, and natural structures. Humanity needs guidance and governance from caring and nurturing leaders and managers who love their families, friends, others, and especially Gaia who sustains and nourishes all life.

PISCES & HANDS

You don’t need a Pisces sun, moon, planets, planetary aspects, or house placements in your natal astrology to be Piscean. Pisces is a feeling type. Feeling types have long slender rectangular palms and long fingers. Pure Pisceans have dominant top phalanges on long slender fingers, smooth joints, conical tips, and loop prints, especially on index fingers. They have medium set mildly flexible shapely thumbs, sensitive looking fingers, a combo of round and conical fingertips, long narrow nails, and head and life lines loosely interwoven at their beginnings. Pinkies with tiny bottom and middle phalanges and no knots symbolize having little need for physical order and / or material wealth. Pisceans with inwardly curving pinkie fingers avoid emotional confrontation (even more than other curved pinkie types).

In my experience, Pisces tend to have more flexible hands and fingers, more peripheral shallow lines, and less deeply etched basic heart, head, life, and fate lines than Scorpio and Cancer types. Pisces is the epitome of spiritual truth. Astrologically, Neptune (Poseidon, King Triton), ruler of the seas, personifies emotion, feelings, instinct, and personal and collective unconscious. Water can be the most calming or destructive force in nature. Neptune rules mind and emotion altering substances like prescription and recreational drugs, nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine. Anything that alters consciousness, fuels visions, inspires illusions, and promotes delusions is Neptunian. Neptune’s esoteric foundation is spirituality. Its mundane correspondence is religion. Religion without spirituality is blind.

George Washington (2/22) was Pisces. CEOs of Citigroup, IBM, Merck, DuPont, and Bank One were Pisces. One mysterious Pisces is Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell Computer, world’s largest privately controlled High-Tech company. Many years ago, before Dell was a major player, Michael prophesied, “We are at the dawn of the next industrial revolution. Our world is becoming more intelligent and more connected by the minute, and ultimately will become intertwined with a vast Internet of Things, paving the way for our customers to do incredible things. This is why we created Dell Technologies. We have the products, services, talent and global scale to be a catalyst for change and guide customers, large and small, on their digital journey.” Like Ariel, daughter of King Triton, ruler of the Seas and our unconscious, Michael visualizes what he wants by delving into our collective unconscious. He intuitively knows what we need and hones in on that. Michael must keep a watchful eye out for Ursula the Octopus (a conglomerate) who lusts for control of his empire.

Pisces is well suited to teaching, human resources, and helping professions. Many are at home in visual arts and music. Hand qualities vary depending on natural talents and abilities, decisions, and actions. Piscean strengths include compassion, humility, and faith. Not known for mental or emotional decisiveness, Pisces tend to be private, and spiritual. You must earn their trust and intimacy. Impressionable and easily influenced, many attempt to escape reality when their circumstances get too hard. Some become substance abusers like Johnny Cash, Jerry Lewis, and Liza Minelli.

As the most sensitive, least acquisitive, and most introverted of all types, Pisces is frequently misunderstood because the feminine gender communicates through a lens of feeling. The most practical Pisces have strong earth (Practical) with a good backup of air (Thinking) and fire (Intuitive). When head and heart are balanced, deep clear basic lines, large stiff thumbs, square fingertips, developed knots, broad nails, arch, and whorl fingerprints combine to empower Pisces physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Pisces is my most and least favorite sign. My father, brother, and daughter (zero degrees) are my three favorite Pisces. Today is dad and George Washington’s Birthday.

Dad was born 2/22/22. His Sun, Venus, Uranus, and ascendant were in Pisces. My brother, Gary (Pisces), sister, Jennifer (Taurus), and I (Gemini) were blessed with dad. Conceived on my parents wedding night, I was born nine months and one day later. If the definition of a genius is an average kid with a Jewish mother, ours was father. My biggest fan, dad frequently embarrassed me. When I was seven, I played a Chopin Prelude on the radio. Dad distributed radios to every class in my grade school. He made sure everyone listened. Despite my mortification when I found out, I quickly became a celebrity in our little community. Though his pride in me was awkward sometimes, it was more fun than I imagined.

I never got to read dad’s hands, nor did I ever find a decent photo of them. I remember loving his warm, strong, and capable hands as a child. Dad had a firm hand shake, a grip of steel, and an energetic touch that was gentle and loving. Perhaps his Capricorn moon grounded and made him more practical on the outside. Dad died suddenly and unexpected 43 years ago of a massive heart attack at age 54. That catalyzed my interest in metaphysics and began my personal transformation. I miss and think of dad often, especially when I’m happiest.

Dad was an incredible storyteller. Scarcely a night passed in early childhood that my brother, sister, and I didn’t go off on an exciting imaginary adventure at bedtime. “BoBo”, the gorilla and “Squeaky”, the mouse were lifelong friends and magical creatures who dad physically embodied to engage us.

As most of us well know, most family home movies are incredibly boring ~ everyone waves at the camera and smiles all the time. Our family dreaded invitations to watch other people’s home movies. We used to act and create roles for ourselves in ours. Dad created commercials and strategically placed them at transitions between scenes to make the experience more fun for the viewer. I edited my favorite commercials from our archives and made this short video. Click here to see my childhood hero in action. The quality isn’t great (8mm), but the content is terrific.

PISCES & PSYCHE

Personal and Collective Psyche transform as outer planets change signs. The only outer planet to pass through Pisces in the 20th century was Uranus (1919–1928). Uranus, symbolic of sudden change, completed its eighty-four year cycle and passed through Pisces from 2003–2011. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, god of the seas, eternally linked to our personal and collective unconscious. Uranus moved to Aries in December 2011 and begins its final journey through Taurus in April of 2019. Stock markets and interest rates may fluctuate when smart investors and psychologists realize that fake news is real news when enough people believe it. I’ve illustrated historical similarities and differences between 1919 and 2003 with documented facts and parodied portraits of politicians, priests, and predators who continue to con us and get away with it.

1919 ~ worst baseball scandal (Black Sox) in history occurred when a grand jury brought indictments against eight players from the White Sox. Accused of throwing the 1919 World Series, they were eventually found not guilty.

2003 ~ complicit use of illicit steroids was the biggest scandal in modern baseball.

Bottle of bonded medicinal whiskey

“For Medical Purposes Only”

1919 ~ Eighteenth Amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors, which encouraged distilling, brewing, and bootlegging.

2003 ~ George W. Bush prohibited Medicare from negotiating drug prices. Black markets for drugs from India and Canada thrived.

1919 ~ World War I ended; consumerism, immigration, discrimination, fundamentalism, and extremism grew. Uranus in Pisces spawned Neptune rising as four million steel workers and miners walked off the job to protest ‘too many work hours’ and “inhumane pay”.

2003 ~ increased wage inequality between workers at the top, middle, and the rest of us, affected overall productivity, resulting in less wages and compensation for a typical worker. Real wages and compensation continue to stagnate.

Four horrible conservative Republican Presidents (Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, and George W Bush) held office while Uranus was in Pisces. The 30th President (born July 4), “Silent Cal” Coolidge said, “The business of America is business”. He also told us, “Biological laws tell us that certain divergent people will not mix or blend (Inferior Races of Asia).” Some things never change. Government and business enjoyed their time in bed together. Illicit affairs wielded temporarily absolute power over tightly woven webs of political, social, and cultural fabric. Plutocrats seduced and betrayed humanity for profit. Ironically, we call our dependence on corporations ‘Citizens United’. The warning label should read: ‘Unhealthy for 99%’.

Mission Accomplished?

Mission accomplished? In 2003, Uranus entered Pisces again. George W Bush began his ‘War on Terror’ carelessly wrecking Iraqi culture and disabling their energy infrastructure. Dick Cheney’s ex-employer, Halliburton, became a proud sponsor and benefactor of the war. Energy sources (wars) were rewarded to energy barons. Security for airports and seaports was carefully placed in the hands of chosen special interest contractors. Public Health Care was sacrificed on altars of pharmaceutical companies and health insurance czars. Social Security flirted with an untimely demise in the Stock Market.

In 1929, loss of faith in government and business infected humanity, and catalyzed the stock market crash! A lesson of GW Bush is a warning of what not to do: out-of-control federal domestic and military spending, government bailouts for financial and auto industries, and unfunded nebulous federal mandates like educational reform that transformed substantial surpluses into huge deficits. Democrats controlled both houses of Congress until the end of Bush in 2009.

Stable Genius

‘No Love’ is not ‘Tough Love’. One obligation and responsibility of wealth is truth and justice. Having great wealth is truly valuing family, friends, everyone, and everything else. The purpose of wealth is to be accountable, choosing a worthy cause and practically and effectively sharing whatever resources it takes to make a real difference.

Mentally, Emotionally, Morally, and Spiritually Bankrupt

Uranus in Pisces transformed traditional patterns of thrift and austerity into neo-consumerism and buying on credit. Two out of three Americans had electricity, refrigerators, and washing machines. Spending on recreation tripled. Henry Ford created new colors, green and maroon, as well as black. Mass tastes energized mass markets for Rice Krispies, Lender’s Bagels, Mounds Bars, Betty Crocker, and Peter Pan Peanut Butter, and many others.

“The real problem is liberal spending”

Credit and consumerism created the illusion of an easy convenient life. Uranus in Pisces inspired movie audiences to out attend church audiences. Movie houses, chain stores, and radio advertising proliferated. ‘Modern Romance’ magazine challenged moral codes. Critics believed consumerism was driving Americans into a soulless existence of materiality and conformity. Writer Sinclair Lewis highlighted humanity’s illusions and delusions, blaming mass production and consumption for “having created a bloodless, loveless, and standardized world”, a very scary reality.

Clueless Hypocrite

Which religions are practicing what they are preaching? Are emigrants and immigrants equal? Evidently, God commanded the KKK with over 40,000 hooded members to march on Washington DC in 1925. The resurgence targeted African Americans, blacks, immigrants, Catholics, and Jews. New immigration laws reduced a stream of immigrants to a trickle while congress decided to hinder the flow of immigrants based on quotas of 150,000 new immigrants yearly. Sound familiar?

Living Proof of Darwin’s Theory

Uranus in Pisces catalyzed a clash between science and religion. Intelligent Design and Creationism ignored modern science. Tennessee legislators voted it unlawful for any teacher in a state supported school, “to teach any theory that denies the story of man’s creation as taught in the bible”. Man descending from apes was unacceptable. John Scopes, high school biology teacher, taught ‘theory of evolution’. Scopes lost in the infamous “Scopes Monkey Trial”.

NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND

Religious culture manipulated school curriculum to cleanse obscenity, promote censorship, and discriminate against race and sexuality in literature and theater. No child was left behind. The German Bauhaus School of Architecture’s ‘less is more’ design philosophy influenced architecture and product design on a global scale. How many yachts do our savior oppressors need?

I was an industrial designer in 1969. At that time, ‘Intelligent Design’ was saving materials and money for manufacturers. Waste was not a problem, except for clean-up and disposal costs. Designers didn’t realize our planet was no bigger than our ability to infect her with a fatal dose of humanity’s own disease. Ignorantly and egoistically, I depleted, wasted, and polluted our natural resources. I rationalized my actions by creating fashion and justified my decisions by ignoring their consequences.

‘Intelligent design’ is not ‘smart design’. Smart designers create useful products and services using sustainable resources, efficient energy production, fewer pollutants, less waste, and finally reincarnating whatever waste remains into beneficial and constructive materials and products that add to humanity. The handwriting is on the wall. Humanity must shift a paradigm of living lies, to seeing, understanding, accepting, and embracing truth. Hate must be transformed by love and letting go of fear.

BELIEVE ME!

‘It’s not what you do, but what you can get away with that matters’. One clear lesson Donald Trump has taught us is common sense is not good sense. Losing our sanity doesn’t make any sense. We interpret fake news and decipher illegible and deceptive writing, while all news has become morally and spiritually bankrupted by leaders with perverse senses of truth. Emperors believe they know what’s best for us, weaving webs with warps of ‘no love’ and wefts of ‘tough love’. We joke of discrimination, greed, prejudice, hate, and hypocrisy of fools. It’s no joke. Being healthier, happier, more loving, and tolerant of ourselves, each other, and our planet is the only thing that makes good sense. We need leaders who can call on their courage, strength, wisdom, and grace to love us and do what’s best for all of us!

Much has happened since 1919. 164 years passed as Neptune transited Pisces from April 4, 2011 ~ April 1, 2025. It’s hard to foretell Neptune’s nebulosity because the lines between vision, illusion, and delusion blur. Pisces embodies endings of ages that begin new ages with spiritual enlightenment. The dusk of denial is the dawn of truth. Bad behavior is pandemic. Attitudes haven’t changed much. Must we die to be reborn? Why can’t we appreciate what we have when we lose what we value? History repeats its desperate and disparate need to teach and learn in the hardest ways possible. Has Neptune in Pisces catalyzed Spiritual Cancer?

Greed Incarnate

Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008. Uranus entered Aries in 2011. Pluto and Uranus combine to suddenly and unexpectedly transform character, energy, values, communications, business, transportation, health care, relationships, creativity, philosophy, politics, purpose, religion, spirituality, and our destiny. Greed is driven by Wealth, Power, and the Illusion of Self Importance. Huge footprints don’t mean huge hearts. The pathology of power fosters the denial of truth. Feeling futility catalyzes the delusion and disillusion of the will of 99%. Fear, hopelessness, and apathy are poisoning the Kool-Aid and too many of us are guzzling it.

DONALDEMORT and his DEMENTORS

Nonsense trumps good sense. Money trumps values. Religion trumps spirituality. Climate denial trumps science. Health insurance companies trump healthcare. Humanity is trumped by HMO’s, pharmaceuticals, and hospitals that prioritize profits over people. Prisons are privatized and trumped by profiteers, packed with prisoners (mostly black), proffered by plutocrats, and promoted by politicians who create laws that promote their own enforcement and profitability of prison populations. Prison hatcheries spawn fundamentalist and fanatical behaviors and frantic followers.

LOCK HIM UP Presidential Coin
Trust Me

Vampires don’t love us. They suck our blood. Wars are fought by have nots, who surrender their vital essences to Plutocrats, who squander them in luxury and leftovers. Why do we choose harmers over farmers? Do we really need fear, hate, and terror? Who are the real vermin and what should we do about them?

‘LOCK THEM UP’

Haves who are lucky enough to have earned what they have, and know how lucky they are, have great moral, ethical, and spiritual obligations and responsibilities to themselves and others. What are our ethical, moral and spiritual responsibilities and obligations?  As we help ourselves, we must help others. How can we protect our planet and still have what we need? How can we be more mentally and emotionally stable?  How can we renew our topsoil, clean our water and air, and employ renewable energy sources. We can send electric cars into space, but can we transform travel, bridges, tunnels, and not build more walls? Conceive the inconceivable. Healthy intent and free will makes a huge difference. Where is love?

HAND of SCORPIO

You don’t need a Scorpio Sun, Moon, houses, aspects, planets, or planetary placements to be a Scorpio. Scorpio is a fixed feeling type with long rectangular palms and long fingers. In my experience, Scorpios have stiffer fingers and thumbs, denser consistency to their palms, and less elastic skin than their feeling sisters, Cancer and Pisces. Head and life lines closely intertwining at their beginnings embodies a tendency to procrastinate at starts and finishes. ‘Letting go’ is a huge challenge. Scorpios care too much what other people think (no matter how they protest or behave). Long and  broad nails and straight pinky fingers can be heartlessly open and frank. I’ve observed many Scorpios with dominant first and third finger phalanges, rounded and conical tips, loop prints, developed knots on second joints, and few vertical lines within the lifeline. Balls of thumb with no vertical lines parallel to the lifeline are untrusting and correspondingly untrustworthy. Scorpio has many wonderful qualities. Today I’m focusing on Scorpions. The tail of the Scorpion is a tale of fear and terror.

Pluto was the Roman god of sex, transformation, and death, ruler of Scorpio, lord of darkness, and master of the sexual orgasm (little death). In ancient Greece, Hades was god of the underworld. In tarot, the High Priestess, Queen of Cups, and Death cards rule Scorpio. Voldemort, Darth Vader, the Mummy, and the Big Bad Wolf are modern versions. Religious extremism, politics, and business are Pluto’s playgrounds. Getting away with prejudice and punishment excites, terrifies, and beckons Donaldemort’s Dementors. Join Harry Potter at the polls November 6 2018 ~ EXPELIOSIS!

Scorpions are controlling, compulsive, jealous, possessive, fearful, resentful, obstinate, manipulative, subversive, secretive, and suspicious. They seduce, covet, and betray our sacred trust. The seduction turns Pluto on, but the betrayal gets Puto off. He encourages terrorists, rewards rapists, and reveres religious raiders while inviting them to join him in an eternity in hell. The path of too many dark secrets leads to the palace of sociopathy. From first breath to final exit, Pluto awaits with a kiss of death. Executioners, undertakers, coroners, morticians, garbage men, power hungry plutocrats, ideologically ill leaders, and spiritually bankrupt human beings live in Scorpio and are ruled by Pluto.

Scorpions make manipulative bosses, mean spirited jailers, abusive parents, and jealous partners who hide their true feelings, especially the shadowy unstable side of their emotions. Your friendly neighbor, a model citizen, devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, and faithful parishioner dies. His family finds pornography, secret love letters, sadistic and masochistic sexual supplies, illegal drugs, and concealed money. Truth becomes transparent in hindsight.

False tweets and fake facts create opacity and distract US from the real secrets about greed, hatred, and sex. Tyrants rationalize the most bizarre behaviors, believing they can get away with them, and they do, if we let them. Their deepest darkest fears and desires propel them towards mental, emotional, moral, and spiritual illness, perversion, and bankruptcy. Evil Priests feign love and compassion as they physically and spiritually rape the innocent souls they were entrusted to protect. Fear, guilt, shame, and remorse safely guard their evil secrets.

“Money talks and bullshit walks”. I’m disappointed by both political parties. Republican partisan politicians have become morally and spiritually bankrupt sadists who get their greatest pleasures from harming have nots. Too many fearful Democrats and poverty minded masochists are desperately scraping at the bottom of the barrel and begging for pennies as we sign their petitions, fill out surveys, and pledge loyalty to too many urgent causes. Joanna and I sign many petitions and give as much as we can afford to worthy causes, but it’s like applying Band-Aids to compound fractures. Whatever we do is a just drop of potable water in an ocean of poison. No matter who wins in the November elections, expect more philandering, sexism, insider trading, evangelical hypocrisy, and partisan political power plays until Plutocrats no longer control humanity’s destiny. Humanity’s ideological, philosophical, and spiritual paradigms must shift.

Money is power. There are over 1,500 billionaires. Many are financing greed and hatred. Humanity needs a billionaire or three to back loving and giving. Our world, societies, and social cultures have been corrupted by a handful of greedy moguls who own our food, healthcare, energy, communications, transportation, raw materials, manufacturing, marketing, retailing, finance, religion, and politics. Plutocrats devalue our democracy by placing greed over giving, embracing religious fundamentalism and fanaticism over real and true faith, and by choosing consumption, waste, and denial over truth, good sense, and human and planetary good health.

“It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt”. Many of life’s most painful lessons are a direct result of choosing money over values and religion over spirituality. It’s easy to rationalize the blackest behavior when your head rules your heart. I never intended to hurt anyone. No one did anything they didn’t want to do. I may not have told the whole truth, but I didn’t lie. I’m sorry for my part. Why must we always lose what we’ve not valued enough or taken for granted in order to cherish it?

SCORPIO & PSYCHE

When outer planets change zodiacal sign, personal psyches are transformed forever. Collective psyche transforms correspondingly. Pluto normally takes twenty years to change sign. While Pluto was at home in Scorpio from 1984 to 1995, it doubled its speed and potency. Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune’s journey through Scorpio in the 20th Century changed our views of Sex, Violence, and Death forever.

Scorpio’s eighth house rules sexual behavior and other people’s money. Sex scandals ousted Senator Gary Hart, while greed and hubris caught up with televangelist Jim Bakker. Bakker was convicted of defrauding his followers out of 158 million dollars.

Homosexuals exited closets in masses in the late 70’s and early 80’s to become a topic of everyday conversation. HIV prevention and condoms were promoted on national TV to stop the spread of AIDS.

Scorpio can be healthy and evolved like a Dove or Phoenix who rises from the ashes. When Pluto passed through Scorpio, sexual fantasies, perversion, and untimely demise flourished and blossomed in its dark underbelly. Too many Scorpions had too many horrible hypocritical secrets. They sold their souls to the Devil by finding pleasure in corrupting innocence. The seduction turns Scorpion on, but the betrayal gets him off! Predatory preachers raped the innocent souls they were entrusted to protect in an unholy alliance with the Devil ~ a crime punishable by GOD as an eternity in HELL.

Since Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10, 2017, many greedy misogynists have grabbed many pussies, repressed many women from exercising their reproductive rights, prevented others from voting, condoned lying, and then rewarded the worst of sexual behaviors. The human race has become a race against bad shit happening. VOTE!

Faith healing was certainly no help to the AIDS epidemic. Fundamentalist religious fanatics, poisonous partisan politicians, and insane ideologues had plenty to hate and lots to preach about. Imagine the hubris of a ‘CHRISTIAN’ leader who thinks he can steer hurricanes to punish non-believers, who calls non-Christians ‘Termites’, derides immigrants, Islam, Muslims, and discriminates against colors… a complete idiot promising nonsense!

1980 put the first professional actor in Whitehouse after the lowest voter turnout ever. ‘Reaganomics’ didn’t ‘Trickle Down’. The Reagan years were like ’20 Mule Team Borax’ and ‘Death Valley Days’ revisited. When Oliver North exposed the Iran Contra scandal, he and Reagan played their roles as well as possible, managing to walk away quietly and relatively unscathed from political scandal.

Other significant violent happenings were manifesting. Police bombed the headquarters of a black radical group called MOVE. Terrorists from the Palestine Liberation Front seized the Italian cruise ship Achille Laura. Terrorists bombed Pan Am flight 103, killing 259 passengers and 11 villagers in Scotland.

Neptune regenerates or degenerates. Neptune (Pisces) transited Scorpio from 1957 to 1970, generating sit-ins and peaceful demonstrations and degenerating into race riots, terrorist bombings, and hijackings. New opportunities for spiritual transformation and growth benefited very few. Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by `two of her own bodyguards’. Racial tensions rose as Bernard Goetz, the subway vigilante, became a folk hero after he shot four young black men in NYC. He said they were robbing him. They claimed they didn’t provoke him. White justice prevailed.

Neptune rules dreams, illusion, and delusion. It was an era of escapism. Political unrest catalyzed the assassinations of John Kennedy, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. Many thousands of men went into exile rather than serve in the Vietnam War. Lots of confused and fearful people consumed all sorts of drugs while others devoured pornography and violence. Oral sex and contraceptives became popular while indiscriminate sex became normal.

Uranus (Aquarius) transited Scorpio from 1975 to 1982. It was the end of the Vietnam War for America and the beginning of terror for Cambodia. A senate committee admitted that ‘ASSASSINATION’ was modus operandi in U.S. foreign policy.

Irreverent political humor nourished hungry audiences. Saturday Night Live flourished and blossomed as poisonous partisan politics sparked a revival of satire and parody. As Uranus transits Taurus (values) and opposes Scorpio (death & transformation), it catalyzes irreversible changes in our personal and collective psyches, philosophies, and purpose. Hopefully, when we’re done with Fascism, we’ll never take what we value or have failed to value for granted again!

HAVES must learn they can no longer afford not to value ‘have-nots’ or to take them for granted. Have-nots must be loved and appreciated for any and all good things that aren’t about money. Our Founding Fathers saw us all as their children and truly wanted what’s best for all of us (despite their personal prejudices and programming). Thanks to them, we can say what’s on our minds and share what’s in our hearts via our first amendment rights!

Scorpio symbolizes powerful women, sex, and death. Persephone and Helen of Troy were Scorpios. The Episcopal Church ordained its first woman in 1974. Barbara Walters was First Lady News anchor on ABC TV in 1976. Scorpio rules reproductive functions. MIT scientists created the first synthetic gene in 1976. The first test tube baby was conceived outside of the womb in 1978. The first Death sentence in ten years was carried out when convicted murderer Gary Gilmore went before a firing squad in 1977.

Scorpio rules garbage. No one ever accepted our infamous Garbage Barge that ferried 3,100 tons of toxic waste 6,000 miles before returning to NIMBY, to be incinerated for all to breathe. Speaking of refuse, Fidel Castro’s “Freedom Flotilla” embarrassed US when we realized that Castro had unloaded his underworld criminals, mentally ill, and other misfits on us. Over 1,000 “No Nukes” protesters were arrested on Wall Street on the 50th anniversary of the 1929 stock market crash. Imagine 1,000,000? 10,000,000?

In 1975, the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ became an instant cult classic. Its message was ‘anything goes’ (as long as you’re not hurting anyone). Punk Rock was a rebellious, unconventional, and nihilistic expression of Uranus in Scorpio. Ultrasound became an alternative to x-ray radiation. Palimony suits became popular. IBM introduced the personal PC and transformed communications for all time. Performance art became a popular and exciting venue for all creative artists. Personal gender identity needs to be accepted by all or we will face the deep and dark consequences of our fear and hate.

The only guarantees in life are Death, Taxes, and Insurance. Insurance is an 8th house matter. It implies we have something of value (2nd house) to protect. You can purchase Insurance, which is a contract that guarantees one party pays another party against a specified loss. You’ve got to pay to play. When premiums are paid, we worry less about the costs and consequences of bad shit happening to family, health, home, car, property, or whatever we value that’s insurable. Everyone’s health must be insured.

Insurance is premeditated gambling. The insured shoots craps and always loses, even when she wins. Your insurance agent is your bookie. Your insurer is the casino. The house is always favored financially due to statistics, permutations, combinations, and probabilities. High risks are wedded to high stakes. You can check your prospects by examining your actuarial tables and know your odds by observing your premiums.

Insuring is often confused with ensuring or assuring. Life is not ensured or assured. Spraying crops with pesticides ensures fewer bugs, weeds, and funguses. It assures we eat, drink, breathe, and apply some degree of toxic chemicals to our lungs, guts, hair, skin, mouths, nails, toes, genitals, or whatever. Investing Social Security in the Stock Market doesn’t insure, ensure, or assure the market won’t collapse. Employees of Enron believed their pensions ensured and assured a secure retirement. Conserving energy ensures we will have more energy and waste fewer natural resources. Drilling for oil in wilderness does not insure we will have enough oil. It ensures and assures we will have environmental, social, political, and planetary health challenges and problems. Offering vengeance as a solution to violence assures more violence.

Life insurance protects the living. What’s the premium for a graceful and painless final exit? How much $$$ are the last months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds of your life worth?  Everyone dies. If you want to learn more about Dying with Dignity, read Final Exit by Derek Humphrey. When your time comes, having a logical, practical, painless, and peaceful alternative to facing a future of dependency, lack of awareness, lack of love, pain, or poverty in old age is a good idea. Or not…

“Dr. Death” (Jack Kevorkian) inspired me to create my very own ‘Dr. Death Do It Yourself Kit’. In case I ever decide to end this insanity of trying to be sane in an insane world, or lose my health, I plan to leave this planet as peacefully and painlessly as possible and to leave others with as small as possible a mess to clean up. An oxygen mask attached to a tank of helium is my means to an independent, painless, peaceful and non-messy final exit.

Mixing politics, religion, and profit with our 2nd amendment rights will surely backfire on the NRA. Laws that enable us to own and use weapons will be regretted when have-nots with guns become fearful and desperate enough to use them. Boundaries between sanity and insanity will blur, and haves will be looking over their shoulders while attempting to protect their families and possessions from the ravenous masses that are scraping for pennies at the bottom of the barrel while watching haves living like royalty.

We’ve become dinosaurs. Our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual futures and the future of our planet are being threatened with chaos and extinction. Our Constitution has armed us (whoever is ready, able, and willing to protect ourselves, our families, ideologies, and beliefs) and given us permission to exercise our rights to declare open season on tyranny, eradicate greed, and remove the predatory Tyrantosaurus Hex.

MY CANCER BEST FRIEND

LLOYD WILSON

Cancer is a feeling type… instinctual, empathic, emotionally complex, and hard to comprehend. Pry into their private lives and watch them retreat into their shells. Cancers hide their most vulnerable selves beneath a facade of nurturing actions. Cautious and vulnerable, Cancers avoid emotional confrontation wherever and whenever possible, although, they prefer being frank and direct over tactful and diplomatic. Their feelings can swing from loving, devoted, and nurturing, to secretive, obsessive, and fearful of the future. Their smartest option is always choosing satisfying over safe. Cancers can become dark and moody when they feel controlled or confined. They must feel protected and secure before they can fully trust. Once trust is earned, loyalties run deep. Cancer needs to cultivate intimacy wherever and whenever they can. Healthy families, close friendships, and satisfying work nourish and support them. Creating structure, organization, and detail also helps them feel stable and secure.

Healthy Cancers are loving, compassionate, and devoted. They’re compatible with other feeling types (Scorpio & Pisces). They feel safe with practical types (Taurus ~ Virgo ~ Capricorn) who are reliable, responsible, and dependable. They’re challenged by thinking types (Gemini ~ Libra ~ Aquarius) who compartmentalize, rationalize, and analyze their feelings. They’re cautious around intuitive types (Aries ~ Leo ~ Sagittarius) who are passionate, spontaneous, and impatient, and afraid they’ll be left holding the psychic garbage bag (they are) and scared of dealing with the collateral damage when idealism, optimism, enthusiasm, and logic wane (and they do). Cancers are acutely consciousness of everyone else’s emotional needs. When they feel insecure, they can become internally secretive and externally aggressive at the same time. Cancer works hardest when income matches output. Motivated by good food, emotional security, and cozy surroundings, their mission is to nurture family, home, and creative imagination.

The impudent young guy on the left in this picture is me, captured forty-four years ago in a photo booth at Kennywood Amusement Park in Pittsburgh, Pa. Lloyd and I met while working part time at a model making shop where we fabricated preschool children’s learning devices for the University of Pittsburgh’s Learning, Research, and Development Center. We made toys for ourselves and our loved ones on our own time. About to graduate from different colleges, I was to become an industrial designer. Lloyd would continue being an artist. We were a couple of Peter Pans on our way to Neverland.

Lloyd didn’t get much nurturing as a child. He developed his quick wit and sense of humor while trying to avoid extreme physical abuse. When his mother was happy, Lloyd was safe. When she was unhappy, she’d incite Lloyd’s rage filled father to beat him up. Lloyd tried hard to fix his broken parents, but they were too sick to support his efforts. Instead, they judged, criticized, and abused him. Lloyd’s mother finally abandoned him by killing herself; his father was committed to a mental institution, and years later, his lovely sister who I had met in Florida (two beautiful children, great husband, and an apparently idyllic life), suddenly and unexpectedly blew her head off with a shotgun.

Lloyd’s slender rectangular palms and long fingers embody his Cancer sun, which is conjunct my Mercury. His Gemini ascendant and my Gemini sun harmonize with one another. Lloyd’s head and life lines tightly intertwine at their beginnings. That reveals his need to feel appreciated and his tendency to take things too personally, even when they aren’t. A sensitive child, Lloyd desperately craved love and support, but didn’t get any.

Lloyd survived childhood without much approval. Meanwhile, he thrives on love and appreciation. Lloyd will give you the shirt off his back if you need it, but you had better never take him for granted. I know because Lloyd has literally given me the shirt off his back in my moment of need. I was on my way to an important meeting and got a nasty stain on the front of my shirt. Before I could blink, Lloyd took off his shirt and traded with me. What I love about him is that it never occurred to him not to do that.

Cancers are collectors. Some stockpile food in case of shortage or emergency. Lloyd collects art books, literature (most well-read person I know), religious art, art supplies, tools, raw materials, and clothing. When wealthy people die, their families donate their wardrobe to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Lloyd has a keen eye for the finest designer clothing. He skillfully sorts through the merchandise for great finds. I call him my personal dresser. We wear the same sizes. Lloyd chooses suits, coats, and jackets with me in mind and has gifted me with outfits worth thousands of dollars that he paid ten or fifteen dollars for. Many had never been worn. He’s a master bargain hunter.

Lloyd’s very flexible thumbs symbolize his ability to adapt to the most horrible of circumstances. They also embody his frequent generosity of heart and spirit. It’s very hard for Lloyd to say “NO”. The gold ring on the bottom phalange of his middle (Saturn) finger on his unconscious hand symbolizes his need to have clear boundaries, be frugal, and learn how to be less available so that he won’t be taken for granted. Of course, Lloyd knows that, but it’s still fun to see his character, motivations, and challenges embodied in the morphology and topography of his hands.

Lloyd would say to me, “People who tell the truth don’t need to have good memories”. I’d reply, “We may be bastards, but at least we’re honest”. Over fifty years of friendship have witnessed many challenging lessons in humility for us. We delayed finding balance between our outer and inner worlds by always choosing to learn the hard way. We had to let go of our need to be more than we were. We learned there are no shortcuts.

Lloyd Wilson is Pittsburgh’s best kept secret because he loves his anonymity. His artwork reveals a magical spirit, but few will truly get to know it. Lloyd personifies Cancer’s best qualities. He’s supportive, sympathetic, receptive, reflective, intuitive, imaginative, extremely devoted to friends and family, and my best friend (male).

TAURUS HANDS

You don’t need a Taurus sun, moon, ascendant, aspects, or house placements to be a Taurus. ‘Pure types’ have firm, pink, elastic skin, a dense consistency of the hands, and bulging percussions under the pinkie finger. Large stiff thumbs and stiff fingers embody stubbornness, determination, and tenacity. A full rosy ball of thumb symbolizes love of family, nature, children, comfort, luxury, art, music, and all things beautiful. When the ball of thumb is surrounded by a long clear deep life line, the person is blessed with inherently good health. With a long clear deep fate line there’s strong purpose.

Deep lines and skin ridge patterns are maps that can be navigated by anyone who learns how. Pure Taurus types have few peripheral lines. Taurus loves security and stability. They think and feel in uncomplicated practical ways. A long graceful heart line ending under the index finger is romantic and sentimental. Being ‘old fashioned’ is natural for them. People with long graceful heart lines tend to see others as they want them to be, instead of how they really are. A head line closely intertwined with a life line needs to be appreciated and never taken for granted. Loop and arch fingerprints add adaptability and practicality. Square finger tips reinforce a need for order and stability. Depending on size, second knots are more or less obsessed with having everything organized and in its place. Dominant middle and bottom phalanges confirm a practical and sensual person. The hand pictured above belongs to a Pisces with dominant Taurus character.

Taurus is driven by physical senses. As responsible, practical, pragmatic, objective, dependable, and reliable individuals, they understand how the material world works. They only trust what they can see and feel, not ideas, intuitions, or inspirations. As creatures of habit, they can get addicted to routine and order. They get bogged down with practical and mundane matters that limit their abstract abilities and imagination. They procrastinate at beginnings and endings because they get stuck in their habits and patterns and care too much what other people think.

Taurus is a feminine archetype. Aphrodite’s need for comfort and beauty are powerful. She gives form to visions of wealth and power. She loves her family, friendships, home, food, nature, art, and music. Her need for physical security drives her practical attitudes. Honest, dependable, and trustworthy, she’s valued for her natural warmth and good sense. She won’t bend the truth or perform a song and dance act for anyone. She’s loyal, affectionate, and charming, but can also be controlling, jealous, and possessive. She thrives in real estate, banking, food, and fashion businesses. She’s not the best salesman as she takes rejection personally. Her greatest challenges are to trust her gut, give up control, and let go when it no longer makes sense to hold on. Taurus can be the best bull or the worst Minotaur.

Pope John Paul ll embodied many fine qualities of Taurus. He tried to get the rich to share their wealth with the poor. He was the first Pope to visit a synagogue. He encouraged Catholics and Jews to love one another. He survived one assassination attempt that nearly killed him and still rose to address countless chaotic messes and reforms in the church.

J. Krishnamurti, a spiritual guide, shared good sense with whoever would listen

Leonardo da Vinci was the original hipster and a great artist and inventor

Sigmund Freud was father of modern psychoanalysis

Karl Marx developed the theory of socialism

Martha Graham was mother of modern dance

Katherine Hepburn was Grande Dame of American stage and movies

Queen Elizabeth and Prime Minister Tony Blair are anchors for Great Britain

“The great mass of people will more easily fall victim to a big lie than a small one”. The darkest depths of Taurus manifested a monster from 1933 to 1945. Responsible for over thirty million deaths, Adolph Hitler transformed our world by channeling anger, fear, and terror and blending it with the magic of imagery to control and manipulate the masses.

Jim Jones, fanatic cult figure, led 1,000 followers to mass suicide in 1978

Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh showed no remorse for his evil

Saddam Hussein (Iraqi President 79~06) was slain and shamed by US

William Randolph Hearst and Orson Welles (both bulls) battled obstinately over the making and release of ‘Citizen Kane’. Kane was a Midas. Welles immodestly modeled him after Hearst. Despite his natural charisma and brilliant acting and directing, Welles was no match for Hearst’s fortune and resultant ability to influence the masses. Welles was determined and persistent in his righteous defiance of Hearst. Stubborn, acquisitive, possessive, and controlling, Hearst relentlessly tortured Welles with legalities and bludgeoned him with bad publicity until Welles could no longer afford his principles. He became unable to rise to his challenges or control his self-indulgences (perils for Taurus).

‘Values’ are the esoteric correspondence for Taurus. Everything and nothing are of equal value; identical in nature, but different by degree. A billionaire dying of cancer would gladly trade his money for youth and good health. A glamorous celebrity with a brain damaged child will graciously scrub toilets in Grand Central Station for a cure. People often ask, “How long is my life?” It’s about quality, not quantity. Everyone dies.

‘Less is more’ learned King Midas as he yearned for the touch of gold, got it, and turned his beloved daughter and their magical relationship into a hunk of metal. His food transformed to gold as it touched his lips. Midas is a lesson in values. How can we be stable, secure, and happy while letting go of wanting more than we need? Too little or too much of anything raises our awareness of what matters. Aphrodite (Greek) rules Taurus. Venus (Roman) loves and values stability, security, sensuality, and splendor.

Alchemy isn’t about turning lead into gold. It’s the art of transforming Saturn into the Sun. We can all be our own best friends and bull shit detectors. Virtue, honesty, integrity, dignity, nobility, responsibility, discipline, structure, focus, determination, and persistence molds heroes. By cultivating healthy attitudes, thinking constructively, setting realistic goals, and taking action, we can positively transform our inner and outer worlds. Everyone has Taurus in their symbolism. Embrace your best qualities, master your darkness, and manage your life.

The human race has become a race against bad shit happening. Common sense is not necessarily good sense. Unhealthy values point to unwholesome societies that follow unnatural paths of self-destruction. Our major problems are not physical. They’re philosophical, ideological, and spiritual. People apply formulas for success, yet few are truly successful. Success is a state of mind, heart, and spirit. Our health and the health of our world is a reflection of our thoughts and feelings. Why must we be habitually and eternally challenged to learn to value what we have by losing it?

The New York Stock Exchange and Federal Reserve are bulls. Uranus transited Taurus from 1935 to 1942. The USA went off the gold standard. People began focusing on their values and questioning materialism. President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Labor organized, forming unions that went on strike and engaged in sit-downs across the nation. President Roosevelt defended the Four Essential Freedoms: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear.

People born between 1935 and 1942 have Uranus in Taurus. Many have experienced sudden and unexpected gains and reversals. After transiting the cosmos for 84 years, in 2019, Uranus returns to Taurus for seven years. While polluted partisan politics prevent and pervert our progress (social and national), expect extreme financial fluctuations.

I hate predicting, but am concerned that if our philosophical and spiritual paradigms don’t shift dramatically by mid-2019, we’ll have another Black Tuesday like Oct. 29, 1929, as Saturn opposes the Stock Exchange’s natal Chiron and squares its natal Moon, Pluto squares natal Jupiter, Uranus conjuncts natal Venus, and Neptune opposes natal Mars! Prepare for Trumpaggedon!

Pisces and Hands

You don’t need a Pisces sun, moon, planets, planetary aspects, or house placements in your natal astrology to be Piscean. Feeling types have long slender rectangular palms and long fingers. Pure Pisceans have dominant top phalanges on long slender fingers, smooth joints, conical tips, and loop prints, especially on index fingers. They have medium set mildly flexible shapely thumbs, sensitive looking fingers, a combo of round and conical fingertips, long narrow nails, and head and life lines interwoven at their beginnings. Pinkies with tiny bottom and middle phalanges and no knots symbolize having little need for physical order or material wealth. Pisceans with inwardly curving pinkie fingers avoid emotional confrontation (even more than other curved pinkie types).

In my experience, Pisces tend to have more flexible hands and fingers, more peripheral shallow lines, and less deeply etched basic heart, head, life, and fate lines than Scorpio and Cancer. Pisces is the epitome of spiritual truth. Astrologically, Neptune (Poseidon, King Triton), rules the seas, and personifies emotion, feelings, instinct, and collective unconscious. Neptune can be a calming or destructive force in nature. Neptune rules substances like prescription and recreational drugs, nicotine, alcohol, caffeine. Anything that alters consciousness, fuels visions, inspires illusions, and promotes delusions is Neptunian. Its mundane correspondence is religion. Spirituality is its esoteric foundation. Religion without spirituality is blind.

As the most sensitive, least acquisitive, and most introverted of all types, Pisces is often misunderstood because feminine intent communicates through a lens of feeling. The most practical Pisces have strong earth with a good backup of air and fire. When head and heart are balanced, deep clear basic lines, large stiff thumbs, square fingertips, developed knots, broad nails, arch, and whorl fingerprints empower Pisces spiritually.

George Washington (2/22) was Pisces. CEOs of Citigroup, IBM, Merck, DuPont, and Bank One were Pisces. One mysterious Pisces is Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of Dell Computer, world’s largest privately controlled High-Tech company. Michael prophesied, “We are at the dawn of the next industrial revolution. Our world is becoming more intelligent and more connected by the minute, and ultimately will become intertwined with a vast Internet of Things, paving the way for our customers to do incredible things. This is why we created Dell Technologies. We have the products, services, talent and global scale to be a catalyst for change and guide customers, large and small, on their digital journey.” Like Ariel, daughter of King Triton, ruler of the Seas and our unconscious, Michael imagines whatever he wants while swimming through our collective unconscious. He intuitively knows what we want and need and hones in on that. Michael must keep a watchful eye on Ursula the Octopus (conglomerate) who lusts for control of his empire.

Pisces is my most and least favorite sign. My father, brother, and daughter are my three all-time favorite Pisces.

Though his pride in me was hard to live up to, it was more fun than I had imagined.

Dad died suddenly and unexpected 42 years ago of a massive heart attack at age 54. That started my interest in metaphysics and personal transformation. I miss and think of dad often, especially when I’m happiest and having a fulfilling life and lots of good times to share.

Dad was an incredible storyteller. Scarcely a night passed in early childhood that my brother, sister, and I didn’t go off on an exciting imaginary adventure at bedtime. “BoBo”, the gorilla and “Squeaky”, the mouse were our lifelong friends and magical creatures whose characters dad physically embodied to fully engage us.

Let’s face it, most home movies are incredibly boring ~ everyone waves at the camera and smiles all the time. Our family dreaded invitations to watch other people’s home movies. Every so often, we acted and created roles for ourselves in our movies. Dad created commercials and strategically placed them at transitions between scenes to make the experience more fun. I edited my favorites from our archives and made this short video. Click here to see my childhood hero in action. The quality isn’t great (8mm), but the content is terrific.

Pisces and the Collective Psyche

Collective psyche transforms as outer planets travel from one sign to another. Uranus was the only outer planet in our solar system to pass through Pisces in the 20th century (1919 – 1928). Pisces naturally embodies Neptune, god of seas, who is always logged on to our personal and collective unconscious. I’ve illustrated the similarities and differences between 1919 and 2003 using portraits I’ve parodied of unlikeable people who’ve been conning us and getting away with it. Uranus finished its eighty-four year cycle in 2003. It passed from Pisces into Aries in December of 2011.

1919 ~ Worst baseball scandal (Black Sox) in history occurred when a grand jury brought indictments against eight players from the Chicago White Sox. Accused of throwing the 1919 World Series, they were eventually found not guilty.                              2003 ~ The illicit use of steroids was the biggest scandal in modern baseball.

Bottle of bonded medicinal whiskey, “For Medical Purposes Only”

1919 ~ Eighteenth amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors; which encouraged distilling, brewing, and bootlegging.               2003 ~ George W. Bush prohibited Medicare from negotiating drug prices. Black markets for drugs from India and Canada began to thrive. Cannabis is medicinal.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED?

1921 ~ Formal investigations into the Teapot Dome oil scandals were initiated.        2003 ~ USA invaded Iraq under false pretenses to secure oil resources.

1924 ~ Worst tornado in US history obliterated 35 towns in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois.                                                                                      2005 ~ Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

1919 ~ World War I ended; consumerism, immigration, discrimination, fundamentalism, and extremism grew. Uranus in Pisces spawned a Neptunian rebellion. Four million steel workers and miners walked off the job to protest ‘too many work hours’ with “inhumane pay”.

Three Presidents (Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover) held office during Uranus’s transit through Pisces. The 30th President (born July 4th), “Silent Cal” Coolidge said, “The business of America is business”. “Biological laws tell us that certain divergent people will not mix or blend.” (“Inferior Races” of Asia) ‘Government and business were in bed together. Their illicit affairs wielded temporary but absolute power over tightly woven webs of political, social, and cultural fabric. Plutocrats compulsively betrayed us for profit. Ironically, we call our co-dependency ‘Citizens United’ these days. The warning label should read: ‘unhealthy for 99%’.

George W Bush began the ‘Global War on Terror’ by invading Iraq and wrecking Iraqi culture and infrastructure. Halliburton was a proud sponsor. Healthcare was sacrificed on the altars of pharmaceutical and health insurance czars. Energy sources (protected by our armed forces) were given to energy barons. Security for airports and seaports was carefully placed in the hands of chosen special interest contractors. Social Security flirted with an untimely demise in the Stock Market. Loss of faith in government, business, and humanity characterized 1929!

Bush’s legacy is a case study in what not to do: out-of-control federal spending (domestic and military), government bailouts (financial and auto industries) and unfunded federal mandates (education reform). George Bush entered office with the largest $ surplus and left with the largest $ deficit in history. By the end of Bush’s Presidency in 2009, Democrats controlled both houses of Congress. Who’s not leaving our children behind these days?

Uranus through Pisces transformed traditional patterns of thrift and austerity into neo-consumerism and buying on credit. Two out of three average Americans had electricity, refrigerators, and washing machines. Spending on recreation tripled. Henry Ford announced new car colors ~ Green and Maroon as well as black. Mass tastes created mass markets for Rice Krispies, Lender’s Bagels, Mounds Bars, Betty Crocker, and Peter Pan Peanut Butter.

Credit and consumerism created the illusion of an easy convenient life. Movie houses, chain stores, and radio advertising proliferated. Uranus in Pisces inspired movie audiences to outperform church attendance. Consumer magazines like Modern Romance challenged moral codes. Critics felt consumerism was driving Americans into a soulless existence of materiality and conformity. Writer Sinclair Lewis highlighted humanity’s illusions and delusions, blaming mass production and consumption for “having created a bloodless, loveless, and standardized world”.

The KKK marched on Washington DC In 1925 with over 40,000 hooded members. Ku Klux Klan resurgence targeted African Americans, blacks, immigrants, Catholics, and Jews. New immigration laws reduced a stream of immigrants to a trickle when congress decided to reduce the flow of immigrants based on quotas of 150,000 new immigrants yearly. Are emigrants and immigrants created equal?

Intelligent Design ~ Creationism denied modern science. With Uranus in Pisces, Science and religion clashed. Man did not descend from apes. Tennessee legislators voted it unlawful for any teacher in a state supported school “to teach any theory that denies the story of man’s creation as taught in the bible”. John Scopes, a high school biology teacher, taught the ‘theory of evolution’. Scopes lost bigly as the defendant in the infamous “Scopes Monkey Trial”.

Religious culture manipulated school curriculum to deal with obscenity, censorship, race, and sexuality in literature and theater. German Bauhaus School of Architecture with its less is more design philosophy, globally influenced architecture and product design. When I became an industrial designer in 1969, ‘Intelligent Design’ was about saving materials and money for manufacturers. Waste was unproblematic, except for disposal costs. ‘Intelligent design’ is about creating useful products using sustainable resources, efficient energy production, fewer pollutants, and finally reincarnating waste back into beneficial and constructive materials and products that add to humanity’s humanity.

‘It’s not what you do, but what you get away with that matters’. Donald Trump has taught us that common sense is not good sense. Good sense is humanity not losing its sanity. The human race has become a race against bad shit happening. As we futilely try to interpret fake news and decipher the illegible and deceptive writing on our walls, the real news is that a spiritually bankrupt human with a perverse sense of reality rules over us. Donald Trump thinks he knows what’s best for us and tough love and punishment are his gifts to us. We must all learn the hard way. We joke about greed, discrimination, prejudice, hate, and the hypocrisy of fools, but it’s not funny. Good sense is everyone becoming healthier, happier, more loving, and tolerant of ourselves, each other, and our planet. We need father figures who love us and want what’s best for all of us.

Much has happened since 1919. Not much has changed. 164 years passed and Neptune is in Pisces again from April 4, 2011 ~ April 1, 2025. It’s very difficult to predict Neptune’s nebulosity because he blurs lines between vision, illusion, and delusion. Pisces can symbolize a beginning of a new age of spiritual enlightenment or it can be the dusk of an age of denial, unhealthy attitudes, and bad behavior. Must our planet die to be reborn and rid itself of Spiritual Cancer? Must we appreciate what we have by abusing what we value? History continually repeats our need to learn the hard way.

Pluto relocated to Capricorn in 2008. Uranus passed into Aries in 2011. Pluto and Uranus mutually embody a transformation of character, energy, transportation, communications, business, politics, religion, and destiny. Great wealth powers illusions of great importance. Just because you have a huge footprint, doesn’t mean you have a big heart. Power pathologizes power, fosters denial of truth, feeds hopelessness, and catalyzes a disillusion of the will of 99%. Fear, hopelessness, and apathy are poisoning the Kool-Aid and we’re guzzling it.

DONALDEMORT AND HIS DEMENTORS

Donald Trump has shed much light on the meaning of his name. Money trumps values. Health insurance companies trump healthcare. Pharmaceutical companies, HMO’s, and hospitals prioritize profits over people. Compound fractures will never be healed with Band-Aids. Prisons privatized for profit are packed with petty lawbreakers (mostly black) proffered by plutocrats and politicians who make the laws, promote their enforcement, and profit from prison populations. Religion trumps spirituality; spawning fundamentalist, fanatical, and fiercely frantic followers instead of empowering loving spiritual people. Climate denial trumps science and good sense (for now). Donaldemort’s cabinet members’ mandates are antithetical to their missions. I call that demented!

Donald Trump is certifiably insane. Ask any psychiatrist. He’s a vampire who sucks our blood and doesn’t care about us. Do we need more fear, hate, and terror? Real wars are fought by have nots who surrender their vital essences so haves can squander them as they live in luxury.

Most underprivileged folk appreciate small acts of thoughtfulness and kindness. Haves who truly value what they’ve earned have a spiritual obligation and ethical and moral responsibility to choose how they can create meaningful differences for the rest of us. What differences can healthy intent and loving free will make? A wealthy person can send an electric car into space, but how can we rebuild our bridges and tunnels without healing our spirits? How can we help the less fortunate without empathy? How do we nourish and protect our planet without caring and having philosophical solidarity? How can we convince the invincible that we’re lovable? Our destiny is in our hands.

Scorpio and the Collective Psyche in the 20th Century

Outer planets have a powerful influence on the personal psyche. They also symbolize massive transformations in the collective psyche as they change sign. When Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transited the sign of Scorpio in the 20th Century, our views of Sex, Violence, and Death transformed forever.

Pluto takes twenty years to change astrological sign during which time it disintegrates, destroys, and transforms collective consciousness. Pluto almost doubled its speed when it transited its own astrological home of Scorpio from 1984 to 1995.

It was a challenging time to keep secrets. Sex combined with death to expose the dark underbelly of Scorpio. HIV came into being while condoms were promoted on national TV to stop the spread of AIDS. Homosexuality came out of the closet to be the topic of everyday conversation. Religious fundamentalists and politicians had plenty to preach about. Sex scandals ousted Senator Gary Hart and televangelist Jim Bakker. Scorpio rules other people’s money and Bakker was later convicted of defrauding his followers of 158 million dollars.

Police bombed the headquarters of a black radical group called MOVE. Terrorists from the Palestine Liberation Front seized the Italian cruise ship Achille Laura. Oliver North exposed the Iran Contra scandal. He and Ronald Reagan walked away intact. Terrorists bombed Pan Am flight 103, killing 259 passengers and 11 villagers in Scotland.

Nobody wanted our famous Garbage barge which carried 3,100 tons of Garbage 6,000 miles before returning home to be burned.

“Dr. Death” (Jack Kevorkian) became a household name.

When Neptune (Pisces) transited the sign of Scorpio from 1957 to 1970, it offered an opportunity for spiritual transformation. Neptune regenerates or degenerates. It began with sit-ins and peaceful demonstrations and ended with race riots, terrorist bombings, and hijackings. Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by `two of her own bodyguards’. Racial tensions rose. Bernard Goetz shot four young black men in the NYC subway system. He claimed they were robbing him. They claimed not to have provoked him. Political unrest catalyzed the assassinations of John Kennedy, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. It was an era of escapism. Drugs, pornography, and indiscriminate sex became normal. Oral sex and contraceptives became popular. Thousands of men went into exile rather than serve in the Vietnam War.

When Uranus (Aquarius) transited Scorpio from 1975 to 1981, it marked the end of the Vietnam War for America and the beginning of new terror in Cambodia. A senate committee admitted that assassination was modus operandi in U.S. foreign policy.

Mass humor was irreverent as seen by the popularity of Saturday Night Live on TV.

Scorpio rules the reproductive system. In 1976, scientists at MIT created the first synthetic gene. The first test tube baby was conceived outside of the womb in 1978.

Scorpio symbolizes powerful women. The Episcopal Church ordained the first woman. Barbara Walters was the first woman national news anchor on ABC TV.

The first Death (Pluto) sentence was carried out in ten years when convicted murderer Gary Gilmore went before a firing squad.

Punk Rock was loud and nihilistic, an unconventional rebellious expression of Uranus.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show became a cult classic.

Ultrasound became an alternative to x-ray radiation.

Performance art became a new art form.

Palimony suits became popular.

Over 1,000 “No Nukes” protesters were arrested on Wall Street on the 50th anniversary of the 1929 stock market crash.

1980 saw the first professional actor in the Whitehouse following the lowest voter turnout in modern history.

Fidel Castro’s “Freedom Flotilla” embarrassed the U.S. when we discovered that Castro had unloaded his underworld criminals, mentally ill, and misfits on us.

IBM introduced the personal PC and revolutionized the computer industry forever.

Insurance is very 8th house. We’ve all heard, “The only guarantees in life are Death and Taxes”. Life is not ensured or assured like Death and Taxes, but you can purchase life insurance, which is a contractual arrangement whereby one party pays another party to guarantee them against a specified loss. Insurance implies that we have something of value (2nd house). Perhaps we can’t afford not to value something. Assuming our premiums are paid, we worry less about the costs of bad shit happening to family, health, home, car, property, or whatever we value that’s insurable.

Insurance is a form of gambling. Your agent is your bookie. Your insurer is the casino. The house is always favored financially due to statistical permutations, combinations, and probabilities. High risk means high stakes. You can check your odds by examining insurance actuarial tables and know your prospects by observing your premiums. The insured shoots craps and always loses, even when he wins.

Insuring may be confused with ensuring or assuring. Spraying crops with pesticides ensures fewer bugs and weeds. It assures we eat drink and breathe toxic chemicals. Investing Social Security in the Stock Market does not insure that the market won’t collapse. Employees of Enron believed their pensions insured a secure retirement. Drilling for oil in the wilderness does not insure that we will have enough oil. It does ensure and assure that we’ll have social, political, and environmental problems. Conserving energy ensures that we will have more energy and waste fewer natural resources. Offering vengeance as a solution to violence assures more violence.

Everyone dies. Life insurance protects the living. What are your last few months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds worth?  What’s the premium for a graceful painless final exit? I’d like to live a long and healthy life and enjoy a quick and graceful final exit. Having an abundance of Scorpio symbolism in my horoscope, I’ve created my very own “Dr. Death Do it Yourself Kit”. It’s a breathing apparatus attached to a tank of helium. When necessary, I’ll have a logical, practical, painless, and peaceful alternative to facing a future of pain, dependency, lack of awareness, no love, or abject poverty in old (hopefully) age.
