November 11, 2019. A rare astronomical event will occur today. Retrograde Mercury, at 18 degrees of Scorpio, will visually transit across the face of the Sun in Scorpio. Here’s a description of the physical event, via The Old Farmer’s Almanac. Tomorrow will feature a full moon in Taurus.
Though Mercury will only appear
as a tiny image in a telescope, the metaphysical implications can be
profound. Brilliant flashes of insight could
illuminate poisonous paradigms and expose dishonest secrets.
Death, decay, and degradation are Pluto’s mission, while Mercury enjoys many fun and interesting projects on multiple planes of consciousness. Mercury is the Roman god of communication, mischief, and wisdom. Mercury was also responsible for being a liaison to Pluto for his siblings. Death is a powerful opponent. The seduction turns Pluto on, but the betrayal gets him off! Pluto tempts innocence with perversions clothed in trust, guilt, shame, and dark secrets.
The human race has become a
race against bad shit happening. We’re sick and our Mother is sick because we’ve
damaged, depleted, and polluted her body, clogged her respiratory and
circulatory systems, and abused her spirit. It’s miraculous that she still loves
and allows us to continue to be selfish, petty, and wasteful.
Black and White are opposite extremes of physical and metaphysical laws that manifest by degree in varying shades of grey. We preach Love and practice Hate, poles of like and dislike. We’re hypocrites, living in an insane world. Everything is ass backwards. Revealing our secrets is like cleaning septic tanks with our tooth brushes. As Hermes (Mercury) said, “The lips of wisdom are closed, except to the ears of understanding.”
Today is Veteran’s Day. It’s a special day to honor those soldiers who have fought for our country. Our culture was built on the backs of Veterans. This is a good day to think about what we’re willing to give our lives for. It’s also a good day for critical thinking in general and forgiving!
Imagine a President who
chooses good will toward all. Imagine leaders who exercise the authority and
responsibility to love and nourish our planet and all of its inhabitants. Imagine
media having a mission to raise human consciousness through honesty and
integrity. Imagine a world where religion is guided by spirituality. Imagine
the potential for good health and happiness for all.
It’s easy to see how easy it
is to choose hate, fear, and intimidation when there’s a steady diet of it
coming from morally and spiritually bankrupt religious fundamentalists and partisan
politicians. Mercury is giving us the opportunity today to see our truths
through the veils of lies and deception. When will we wake up and smell the garbage?
Why must we lose what we value to value what we had?
Scorpio is a fixed feeling type. Having a Scorpio Sun, Moon, houses, aspects, planets, or planetary placements doesn’t guarantee a Scorpio personality. Having Scorpio hands with long rectangular palms and long stiff fingers and large stiff thumbs does. The consistency of those hands is denser and skin less elastic than Cancer and Pisces. Head and life lines interlace at their start, embodying a tendency to fight change and procrastinate at beginnings and endings. ‘Letting go’ is a huge challenge, even when there’s no choice. Another big challenge is caring too much what others think.
No matter your archetype, long broad nails and straight pinky fingers represent more open and frank people. Dominant first and third phalanges on rounded and conical fingertips embody a healthy mix of intuition and practicality. Loop fingerprints symbolize adaptability and social ability. Developed knots on second joints need physical order. Developed first knots need mental order. Very large knots often belong to OCD people.
Vertical lines within a lifeline represent intimate relationships. Balls of the thumb with no lines within the lifeline are untrusting and untrustworthy, though they might not know it. They mistake desire and passion for love and end up becoming jealous and possessive. Scorpio can have many wonderful qualities, but Scorpio is also a tale of the tail of the Scorpion. Now is a good time to tell a tale of Scorpio with Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus currently transiting Scorpio. Mercury will be Retrograde in Scorpio on Halloween. It’s a great time to talk about the mythology of Scorpio and explore how the dark side of Scorpio is affecting our humanity and planet. The ball of thumb on the left in the picture above is simulated. It belonged to a child serial killer. Click here to read his story.
My Gemini sun and hands embody my Gemini behavior. Scorpio ascends in my natal chart, closely conjunct the asteroid Chiron (hand). Jupiter in Scorpio in my first house is a singleton in the bottom hemisphere of my natal chart. Pluto in Leo in my tenth house is closely conjunct Saturn in Leo which straddles my Leo midheaven. My Sun Uranus and Venus Node conjunctions are in Gemini in my 8th (Scorpio) house, joined by Vulcanus, Vertex, and a few asteroids. Scorpio rules my unconscious. As a metaphysical reader and counselor, I hear a lot of secrets. People tell me things they’ve never told anyone else because they believe I already know them. They think I can see more than I can. Of course, in the final analysis, it’s not what you see, but what you say and how you say it that matters.
When Saturn in Scorpio transited my ascendant in November of
2012, it squared my natal Saturn Pluto conjunction, compelled me to strengthen
my foundation, build more stable structures, and construct my life with less
distraction and more discipline and focus. Saturn forced me to set realistic
goals and challenged me to let go of everything and everyone that wasn’t
working for me. It wasn’t easy, but I did. Seeing clearly, listening carefully,
and thinking critically, has enabled me to rise from the ashes.
Jupiter in Scorpio has been a blessing and a curse for me. My natal Jupiter is within minutes of opposing my very stubborn 7th house Mars in Taurus. It’s trine my very sensitive ninth house Mercury in Cancer. Looking for shortcuts and easy paths to success has been a challenge. Coming out of the shithouse smelling like a rose has been the easy part. William Blake said, “The path of excess leads to the palace of wisdom”. I know.
Where’s Greta? EXPELIOSIS!
Pluto, Roman god of sex, transformation, and death is ruler of Scorpio, lord of darkness, and master of the sexual orgasm. In ancient Greece, Hades was god of the underworld. Hades had the nastiest job because his brothers and sisters were having fun controlling living people. Hades was king of the leftovers and waste. In tarot, the High Priestess, Queen of Cups, and Death card are ruled by Scorpio. Voldemort, Darth Vader, the Mummy, and the Big Bad Wolf are modern versions. Religious extremism, politics, and big business are Pluto’s playgrounds. It’s not what you do, but what you can get away with that matters. Anger, fear, hatred, prejudice, and punishment excite and beckon Donaldemort’s Dementors who are determined to terrify and control the rest of us…
My question is what responsibility
do Mega-Haves have to help support have nots. Billionaires can use their free
will to decide what they want to champion, but they must support a humanitarian
cause. Who will repair infrastructure? Who will help harness natural energy?
Who will promote sustainability? Who will manage communications, push mass transit
and alternative transportation, intelligently design and manufacture new products
and then plan for their corresponding distribution, consumption, and disposal? Who will help us acquire healthcare and
education for all? What’s the cost of a healthy planet? How much to feel well? How much does thinking
critically and living creatively cost? What’s the cost of having a healthy body
and skin? What price for healthy circulatory and respiratory systems? What about the costs of having a satisfying
The seduction turns Pluto on, but the betrayal gets him off. By encouraging terrorists, rewarding rapists, and worshipping religious fanatics, we’re all invited to spend an eternity in hell. The path of too many dark secrets leads to the palace of sociopathy. From first breath to final exit, Pluto impatiently awaits you with a kiss of death.
Scorpions make manipulative bosses, mean spirited jailers, abusive parents, and jealous partners who hide their true feelings. It’s especially hard to deal with the shadowy unstable side of Pluto’s emotions. Executioners, undertakers, coroners, morticians, and garbage men, along with power hungry plutocrats, partisan politicians, and spiritually bankrupt religious fundamentalists and hypocrites have strong Scorpio in their symbolism. Your friendly neighbor, a model citizen, devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, and faithful parishioner dies. His family finds pornography, secret love letters, sadistic and masochistic sexual supplies, illegal drugs, and concealed money. Alternative facts are opaque, while hindsight is transparent.
False tweets and fake facts create opacity and disguise secrets of greed, bigotry, hatred, and sexual perversion. Tyrants rationalize the most bizarre behaviors because they believe they can get away with them. And they do, if we let them. At this moment, many are getting away with philandering, sexism, insider trading, religious hypocrisy, and poisonous partisan politics. Our deepest darkest fears and terrors are propelling humanity towards mental, emotional, moral, and spiritual bankruptcy. Evil Priests feign love and compassion as they physically, mentally, and spiritually rape the innocent souls they were entrusted to protect. Fear, guilt, shame, and remorse safely guard their secrets.
“Money talks and bullshit walks”. Plutocrats control humanity’s destiny. Republican partisan politicians have become morally and spiritually bankrupt sadists, who derive pleasure from harming have-nots. Fearful poverty minded Democrats desperately scrape the bottom of the barrel as they ask us to sign their petitions, fill out their surveys, and pledge loyalty to too many urgent causes as they beg for a few shekels. I sign and give as much as I can to worthy causes, but it’s like applying a Band-Aid to a compound fracture or placing a drop of potable water in an ocean of poison. Humanity’s ideological, philosophical, and spiritual paradigms must shift as the human race has become a race against horrible bad shit happening.
Our planet and social cultures have been corrupted by a handful of greedy moguls who control our food, shelter, healthcare, energy, communications, transportation, raw materials, manufacturing, marketing, retailing, finance, religion, and politics. Plutocrats devalue democracy by placing greed over giving, by embracing religious fundamentalism over spirituality and true faith, and by choosing consumption, waste, and denial over truth, good sense, and planetary good health. 2,153 billionaires have great social responsibility. Humanity needs them (and everyone else) to embrace caring and meaningful causes.
“It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt”. Many of life’s most painful lessons are a direct result of choosing money over values and religion over spirituality. It’s easy to rationalize the blackest behavior when your head rules your heart. “I never intended to hurt anyone”. “No one did anything they didn’t want to do”. “I may not have told the whole truth, but I didn’t lie”. “I’m sorry for my part”. Why must we lose what we’ve taken for granted to learn to value it? Scorpio holds the key to unlocking our secrets!
When outer planets change zodiacal sign, personal and collective
psyches transform forever. Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune’s journey through 20th
Century Scorpio changed our views of Sex, Secrets, Violence, Money, and Death. Pluto
takes twenty years to change sign. Pluto was home in Scorpio from 1984 to 1995.
It doubled its speed and potency in quest of full power.
Astrology’s eighth house rules secrets, sexuality, death, and other
money. Sex scandals ousted
Senator Gary Hart, while greed and hubris infected televangelist Jim Bakker, dismissed as minister of the Assemblies of God denomination. Tried, in 1989, he was convicted
in federal court on 24 counts of fraud and conspiracy. Bakker diverted millions of dollars to pay for his and Tammy’s
grandiose lifestyle. Bakker was convicted of fraud for duping his followers out of 158
Homosexuals exited their closets in masses in the late 70’s ~ early 80’s to be everyday conversation. HIV prevention and condoms were promoted on national TV to stop the spread of AIDS.
Scorpio can be healthy and evolved like a Phoenix who rises from the ashes. Scorpio can also be perverted by secret sexual control fantasies. As Pluto passed through Scorpio, untimely demises flourished and blossomed. Too many had too many horrible hypocritical secrets. Souls sold to the Devil while pleasuring themselves by corrupting innocence. A seduction turns Scorpio on, but the betrayal is what gets him off! By making an unholy alliance with the Devil, he catalyzes predatory preachers who rape the innocent souls they were entrusted to protect ~ a crime punishable in HELL.
When Jupiter entered
Scorpio on October 10, 2017, greedy misogynists grabbed many pussies, repressed
many women from exercising their reproductive rights, and prevented many have
nots from voting, while condoned lying and rewarding the worst of sexual and
business behaviors. A human race became a race against bad shit happening.
Faith healing was no help for AIDS. Fundamentalist religious fanatics,
poisonous partisan politicians, and insane ideologues had plenty to hate and preach
about. Imagine the hubris of ‘CHRISTIAN’ leaders who believe they can steer
hurricanes to punish non-believers. Who call non-Christians ‘Termites’? Who deride
immigrants, Islams, Muslims, or coloreds… clueless idiots who promise nonsense!
1980 put the first professional actor in the White House after the
lowest voter turnout ever. ‘Reaganomics’ didn’t ‘Trickle Down’. Reagan years
were ’20 Mule Team Borax’ and ‘Death Valley Days’ years. When Oliver North
exposed the Iran Contra scandal, he and Reagan played their roles well, managing
to walk quietly away and return unscathed by political scandal.
Other significant violence
was manifesting. Police bombed the headquarters of the black radical group
called MOVE. Terrorists from Palestine Liberation Front seized the Italian
cruise ship Achille Laura. Terrorists bombed Pan Am flight 103, killing 259
passengers and 11 villagers in Scotland.
Neptune regenerates or degenerates. Neptune (Pisces) transited Scorpio from 1957 to 1970, generating sit-ins and peaceful demonstrations and degenerating to race riots, terrorist bombings, and hijackings. New opportunities for spiritual transformation and growth benefited few. Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by `two of her own bodyguards’. Racial tensions rose as Bernard Goetz, the subway vigilante, became a folk hero after he shot four young black men in NYC. He claimed they were robbing him. They claimed they didn’t provoke him. White justice favored Goetz.
Neptune rules dreams,
illusion, and delusion. In an era of escapism, political unrest catalyzed the assassinations
of John Kennedy, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. Tens of thousands went
into exile rather than serve in the Vietnam War. Privileged few had ‘bone despurment’.
Confused and fearful people consume illicit drugs while others devour pornography
and violence. Oral sex and contraceptives were popular. Indiscriminate sex was
Uranus (Aquarius) transited Scorpio from 1975 to 1982. The end of the Vietnam
War for America was the beginning of terror for Cambodia. A senate committee
admitted ‘ASSASSINATION’ was modus operandi in U.S. foreign policy.
Irreverent political humor
nourished hungry audiences. Saturday Night Live flourished and blossomed as poisonous
partisan politics sparked a revival of satire and parody. Uranus transits
Taurus (values) as it opposes (death and transformation) Scorpio and catalyzes irreversible
changes in our personal and collective psyches, philosophies, and purpose. We’ll
never ever take what we value or have failed to value for granted again!
HAVES need to learn they can no longer afford not to give back
to ‘have-nots’ in some significant way rather than take them for granted.
Have-nots need to be appreciated for any and all good things. Our Founding
Fathers saw us as children, truly wanting what’s best for all (despite personal
prejudices and programming). Thanks to them, we say what’s on our minds and
share what’s in our hearts via first amendment rights!
Scorpio symbolizes power, women, sex, and death. Persephone and
Helen of Troy are two. Episcopal Church ordained its first woman in 1974. Barbara
Walters was First Lady News anchor on ABC TV in 1976. Scorpio rules
reproductive functions. MIT scientists created the first synthetic gene in 1976.
The first test tube baby was conceived outside of the womb in 1978. The first
Death sentence in ten years was carried out when convicted murderer Gary
Gilmore went before a firing squad in 1977.
Scorpio rules garbage. No one wanted our notorious Garbage Barge that ferried 3,100 tons of toxic waste 6,000 miles before returning to NIMBY, to be incinerated for all to breathe. Speaking of refuse, Fidel Castro’s “Freedom Flotilla” highly embarrassed US officials when we realized that Castro had unloaded his underworld criminals, mentally ill, and other misfits on us. Over 1,000 “No Nukes” protesters were arrested on Wall Street on the 50th anniversary of the 1929 stock market crash. Who will be protesting on its 100th anniversary?
In 1975, the ‘Rocky
Horror Picture Show’ became an instant cult classic. Its message was ‘anything
goes’ (as long as you’re not hurting anyone). Punk Rock was rebellious, unconventional,
and nihilistic. Uranus in Scorpio brought us Ultrasound, which became an
alternative to x-ray radiation. Palimony suits became popular. IBM introduced personal
PCs and transformed communications. Performance art became popular and an exciting
venue for all creative artists. Personal gender identity needed to be accepted or
face the dire consequence of fear and hatred.
Only guarantees in
life are Death, Taxes, and Insurance. Insurance is 8th house. It implies
we have something of value (2nd house) to
protect. We pay to play. You can purchase Insurance, a contract that guarantees
one party pays another party against a specified loss. When premiums are paid,
we worry less about costs and consequences of bad shit happening to family,
health, home, car, property, or whatever we value that’s insurable.
Insurance is premeditated gambling. The insured shoots craps and
always loses, even when they win. Your insurance agent is your bookie. Your
insurer is the casino. The house is always favored financially due to statistics,
permutations, combinations, and probabilities. High risks are wedded to high
stakes. You can generalize your prospects by examining actuarial tables and know
your odds by observing your premiums.
Insuring is often confused with ensuring or assuring. Life is
not ensured or assured. Spraying crops with pesticides ensures fewer bugs,
weeds, and funguses. It assures we eat, drink, breathe, and apply some degree
of toxic chemicals to our lungs, guts, hair, skin, mouths, nails, toes, genitals,
or whatever. Investing Social Security in the Stock Market doesn’t insure,
ensure, or assure the market won’t collapse. Employees of Enron believed pensions
ensured and assured a secure retirement. They didn’t. Conserving energy ensures
we will have more energy and waste fewer natural resources. Drilling for oil in
wilderness does not insure we will have enough oil. It does ensure and assure we
will have environmental, social, political, and planetary health problems. Offering
vengeance as a solution to violence assures more violence.
Everyone dies. Life insurance protects the living. What’s the
premium for a graceful and painless final exit? How much $$$ are the last years,
months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds of your life worth? Learn more about Dying with Dignity by reading Final
Exit by Derek Humphrey. When your time comes, having a logical,
practical, painless, and peaceful alternative to facing a future of dependency,
lack of awareness of love, pain, or poverty in old age is a good idea. Or not…
“Dr. Death” (Jack Kevorkian) inspired me to create a ‘Dr. Death Do It Yourself Kit’. When I decide to end the insanity of trying to be a sane person in an insane world and can no longer maintain my good health, I plan to leave this planet as peacefully and painlessly as possible and leave others with as small a mess as possible to clean up. An oxygen mask and a tank of helium will expedite an independent, painless, peaceful, and non-messy final exit.
Mixing politics, religion, and profit with our 2nd amendment rights will surely backfire on the NRA. Laws enable us to own and use weapons. Laws become regretfully inadequate when desperate angry have-nots with guns become fearful and hysterical enough to use them. Boundaries between sanity and insanity blur. Haves will have to protect their royalty, families, and possessions from the ravenous masses of gun owners scraping for pennies at the bottom of the barrel.
Our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual futures and the future of our planet and world are threatened with chaos and destruction. Our Constitution armed whoever is ready, willing, and able to protect our families, ideologies, and beliefs and has permitted us to exercise our rights to declare open season on tyranny, greed, and the extinction of Tyrantosaurus Hex and his merry band of Repuglicans.
2019 ~ Fall Equinox ~ massive paradigm shifts are causing huge transformations
in personal and collective psyches. Outer planets, symbolizing our inner and
outer worlds are transmuting us through cardinal, fixed, and mutable modalities.
As Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transited through 20th Century Libra, forces of good and evil
clashed. Unable to balance optimism with pessimism, tolerance with intolerance,
justice with injustice, and progress with regress we had little social and
Uranus transited Aries
(opposing Libra), to Taurus in 2018 and enters Gemini in 2026. Neptune in
Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn point toward poisonous partisan politics and calculating
politicians who deceive voters with empty promises, fueled by hubris, hatred, greed,
gluttony, and a morally and spiritually bankrupt leader.
While Neptune (Pisces) transited Libra from 1942 to 1957, nuclear weapons boomed. The
Atomic Bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. President Truman ordered The Atomic
Energy Commission to produce an even bigger `Hydrogen Bomb’. Neptune in Pisces has
given us a deluded Emperor with his finger on the button. Why can’t we see we’re
in this together? Our obligation is to all of humanity. We must nourish future generations
and cultivate healthy behaviors, values, ethics, thinking, feelings, will
power, physical habits, relationships, creativity, philosophies, purpose,
dreams, and spirituality.
Where does fear stop and accountability begin? When do we take
charge of our own destiny? Can humanity prevent ‘bad shit from happening’
instead of always racing towards it?
Nations was born on October 24 1945.
Their Charter was ratified by China, France, Soviet Union, United
Kingdom, and the United States. International cartels firmly established themselves. The European
Common Market was recognized. Civil Rights Movements flourished. Group Psychology
became popular. World Council of
Churches was established. Mother Francis Xavier Cabrini, founder of Missionary
Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, became the first American Citizen to be canonized
by the Roman Catholic Church.
The Devil is hard at
work in our churches. An eternity in hell awaits confused and corrupt priests, who
are tempted with erotic desires that encourage them to misuse their power and spiritually
abuse the sacred souls they were entrusted to protect. No matter what your religion,
humanity is one huge dysfunctional family.
When Neptune exited
Libra in 1957, bestselling novel, Peyton Place, focused on sexual
intrigue in a small town. Allen Ginsberg, a popular poet wrote, “I have seen
the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness”. People born 1942 ~ 1957 tend
to over idealize relationships, seeing them as they want them to be instead of how
they really are. A majority of our political leaders fall within these birthdates
and are utterly blind.
Uranus (Aquarius) transited Libra from 1968 to 1975. The spirit of nationalism
shifted from optimism to pessimism. Faith in progress turned into
disillusionment in national institutions and world progress. The period was
marked by useless popular inventions like a pet rock, giant platform shoes, and
shag haircuts. Punk Rock, Primal Therapy, and Streaking became popular. The
Supreme Court Legalized Abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy (Roe vs.
Wade). Patriarchy certainly isn’t working for most of us. Isn’t it time for Matriarchy?
Uranus in Taurus and
Pluto in Capricorn have gathered ultra-conservative forces to bias a Supreme
Court that curtails Women’s Rights. Bumbling bureaucrats choose money over values,
promote religion over spirituality, embrace greed over good health, and offer us
a heaping helping of fear, hate, confusion, and delusion. Where has our honesty,
integrity, dignity, courage, strength, grace, virtue, and wisdom gone. Our personal
and planetary health is controlled by too many pussy grabbers, fearful haters,
and gluttonous shitholes. We must take responsibility for our own well-being
In 1968, Governor George
Wallace, a racial bigot from Alabama, announced he’d be running for President
on a newly formed American Independent Party ticket. He threatened to repeal
the “so called civil rights laws”. In 1971, an assassination attempt left
candidate Wallace paralyzed from the waist down. Will history repeat itself? Diplomat
Henry Kissinger approved the financing of clandestine CIA activities in Chile
aimed at preventing the election and inauguration of Salvador Allende as
Patty Hearst popularized ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ after she was kidnapped and brain-washed by the Symbionese Liberation Army. A military junta deposed Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie. The most popular show on TV was a comic satire about a racist named Archie Bunker. Racism is a topic of pundits these days, but much less funny.
In Taurus, Uranus has brought us a naked Emperor who has chosen to build walls between us and our closest neighbors as he builds ideological, philosophical, and spiritual walls between us and the rest of civilization. While preaching Christian Values, he practices the seven deadly sins: lust, greed, envy, wrath, pride, gluttony, and sloth.
Pluto (Scorpio) transited Libra from 1971 to 1983. That period marked the launch
of the environmental movement RRR ~ Reuse, Recycle, and Recreate. Growers
and pickers reached a settlement that ended nearly ten years of grape boycotts
(led by Cesar Chavez). Farm workers finally had bargaining power. They strived
together to accept, compromise, and sacrifice to achieve their goals.
In 1954, Neptune was in Libra and Pluto
was in Leo. In the case of Brown v. Board of Education, the Supreme Court ruled
racial segregation of schools was unconstitutional. On April 20, 1971, United States Supreme
Court upheld the use of busing to achieve racial desegregation in
schools. Unfortunately, making something law, doesn’t erase hatred. ‘Haves’ must learn to understand
what ‘Have Nots’ have not.
An arm of the Palestine Liberation Organization terrorized the
1972 summer Olympics in Munich. Prime Minister Idi Amin
slaughtered over 300,000 Ugandans and alienated his country from the rest of
the world. Violence in Ireland forced Britain to seize control of Northern
Ireland and suspend the Protestant controlled parliament. In 1975 South Vietnam
crumbled, bringing an end to the Vietnam War. Because of the Karen Ann Quinlan
case, `right to die’ rulings were enacted all across the USA. The serial killer
“Son of Sam” was put away after terrorizing both males and females in NYC.
Religious extremist Jim Jones’s followers drank the cool aid and died.
“The Lips of Wisdom are closed, except to the Ears of Understanding” ~ Hermes
You don’t need a Leo sun, moon, ascendant, planets, aspects, or houses to be a Leo. Anyone with Leo hands behaves like a Leo. Fire (intuitive) and air signs (thinking) are masculine in gender. Earth signs (practical) and water signs (feeling) are feminine. All Intuitive types have long rectangular palms with short fingers. Leo’s morphology and proportions are identical to Sagittarius and Aries. The differences are in hand qualities and features such as flexibility and stiffness, elasticity and consistency, and texture and color. Leo is a fixed type. Leo hands are stiff, dense, and firm. Leo’s skin is less elastic than Aries skin. Aries (cardinal) sometimes acts without thinking, and then bounces back from the consequences. Sagittarians (mutable) have softer hands as Sagittarians tend to be more self-indulgent and pleasure-seeking.
Leo has big ideas, but procrastinates. Life and head lines often intertwine where a rosy bulge meets a strong stiff thumb on a firm pink hand. Closely braided head and life lines reveal a person who cares about what others think. The longer the connection, the more they care. Leos take what others say personally, even when it wasn’t meant to be! Leos need to be liked, appreciated, and never taken for granted; which is the beginning of the end.
Healthy Leos are highly spirited, enthusiastic individuals who dislike
details and need to see the whole picture. They require freedom in order to
express themselves naturally. Leos take pride in their honesty, integrity,
dignity, and nobility. They’re independent objective thinkers who set inspiring
goals as ways to channel their abundant pride, energy, and passion. Leo loves
being center of attention. Creative, dramatic, generous, enthusiastic, and
fiercely loyal, they embrace you with ‘pride’ and lavish you with ‘praise’ and
then expect you to admire and worship them forever. Their many fans eagerly await
their contagious humor and compelling stories.
Leo’s physical sense is sight. The esoteric equivalent is
enlightenment. Leo must learn to burn brightly without judgement or
expectation, embrace truth, see the proverbial handwriting on the walls, cut
their losses, and let go of false pride. Many multi-talented Leos spread
themselves too thin and end up becoming the jacks of all trades, masters of
none. Their potential
health problems are eyesight, heart, and poor circulation.
Pure types have long and strong ring fingers. Shapes of tips, proportions of phalanges, knots, nails, lengths of fingers, directions of lines, and breaks, along with other qualities of topographical markings reveal what the person chooses to create with their free will. A seasoned palmist can readily see relationship skills, career potentials, behavior, and health issues. The consistency and flexibility of hands and the elasticity of skin reveals three modalities. Whorl fingerprints (concentric circles and spirals) add originality, spontaneity, eccentricity, and unconventionality. It’s important to note that despite the accuracy of hand science, human nature cannot be defined through details. It’s about combinations of details affecting free will, choice, action, and context. Palmistry is my favorite of myriad metaphysical methods to observe and interpret human character.
I often look to ring fingers for artistic and aesthetic
abilities, drama, versatility, salesmanship, showiness, gambling proclivities,
satisfaction, and reputation. No matter what your type, strong ring fingers add
adaptability, creativity, and expressiveness. Cultivated Leos love beautiful
things and savor a developed sense of taste and style. Long ring fingered folk
are likable and they know it.
The ring finger is judged for length against the middle finger. When the tip is shorter than the middle of the first phalanx of the middle finger, it’s considered short. When longer, it’s considered long. Hands of actors, artists, architects, designers, craftsmen, photographers, curators, businessmen, teachers, salesmen, politicians, and diplomats frequently have long ring fingers. Hands of gamblers also have long ring fingers. A major challenge of very long ring fingered gamblers is that they do win, but don’t know when to stop.
No matter what your sun sign or hand type, people with square fingertips and stiff knotty joints are more practical, methodical, and cautious than those without them. Crooked fingers bring perfectionism, self-criticism, and potential moodiness. Leos tend to procrastinate at beginnings and endings. Healthy Leos shine with strength and courage like the sun. Leo is naturally charming, talented, and versatile. Leo’s liabilities are self- consciousness, emotional insecurity, vanity, and clinging to obsolete circumstances and behavioral patterns while cultivating confusing situations and nursing fruitless relationships. Don’t ever take a Leo for granted unless you’re trying to make him angry or scarce. Leo must have an inspiring quest or risk mundanity and mediocrity. Easily bored when life gets routine, too much order and detail can make Leo restless and impatient. If you can’t help a Leo, stay out of his way. No matter your sign, if you have Leo hands, you love being the boss.
Extroverts in general and fire types in particular, flourish best
when they behave responsibly, honestly, patiently, and naturally in their
relationships. Leo needs to learn to cultivate clear vision and enduring
patience. That’s not easy for Leo as he’s naturally impatient and impulsive.
Frequently accused of ‘being opinionated’, Leo’s point of view is so very
important. Communicating clearly and effectively is a must. Leo’s biggest challenges
are to establish clear boundaries and limitations and overcome inertia.
Last time I checked, there were more Fortune 500 and NASDAQ LEO
CEO’s than any other sign. Our four most recent Presidents have all been dominated
by Leo symbolism.
Bill Clinton is a
multi-talented charismatic Leo. His long rectangular palms and short fingers
reveal Leo intuitive hands. Head and life lines are closely tied at their
beginnings. Bill cares more than you know about what others think of him. Bill’s
insecurity, pride, and hubris undermined the power he worked so hard to
acquire. Ironically and regrettably, philandering often comes with power. I’m
sure Hillary (Scorpio ~ Capricorn hands) gave Bill a thorough spanking he’ll
never forget when he got caught!
George Bush desperately
wanted to be a ‘good old boy’, but he had too much unearned power. He hung to his
frat boy mentality, well into his Presidency. George is a Cancer. He has Leo
rising and Leo hands similar to Bill Clinton. Ruled by false pride and ego
centered motivations, George is likely deeply embarrassed about his choices and
behavior as President. Perhaps he has finally learned humility and is overjoyed
that he’s no longer the worst President.
Barack Obama is a Leo with intuitive hands that display an Arian and Aquarian combo. He’s a warrior of ideas and ideals. Barack embodies some of the best qualities of Leo. Proud, but respectful, he’s loyal to family and friends who’ve earned his trust. Barack’s biggest challenge as President was being a bi-racial bi-partisan politician in a partisan world. He should have grabbed power while Democrats ruled congress and the senate.
Donald Trump is a Gemini with Leo rising. Donald’s small stiff
looking Leo hands with rectangular palms, short fingers, and closely
intertwined head and life line reveal a man who desperately cares what you
think despite his flippant attitude and intimidating behavior. Donald Trump flaunts
the absolute worst qualities of Gemini and Leo. He blew a golden opportunity to
truly be loved by promoting fear and hatred. How much tyranny, intimidation, and
greed do we need before we learn to value our humanity, health, families,
planet, and basic gifts of life without having to lose them? Rest assured,
Donald Trump’s humiliation, shame, and fall from grace will be of great relief
and satisfaction for the world!
Author’s Note: The following observations, insights, and
generalizations are derived from over forty years of study and from reading many
tens of thousands of hands.
You don’t need a
Cancer sun, moon, planets, or planetary house placements to be a Cancer. All feeling
types have long narrow palms and long fingers ~ often held closely together.
Healthy Cancer hands are firm and consistent with pink elastic skin. Finger
joints are pliable, less stiff than Scorpio, and
less supple than Pisces. Cancer
head and life lines tend to separate at their beginnings on pure types. If the head
and life lines are closely connected at their beginnings, the individual has
(mother) issues around losing control, fear of criticism, and need for
approval. These folk should never ever be taken for granted.
Cancer is sensitive.
More peripheral lines add even more sensitivity. You must be careful what you
say as they will remember the ‘bad’ things, even if you haven’t said any. Long
gently sloping head lines are synergistic with full pink heels of hands and embody
a healthy balance between intuition, creativity, and practicality. Heart lines
that gracefully curve toward the index finger personify a romantic, idealistic,
and sometimes unrealistic vision of other people. I’ve observed lots of round
or conical fingertips with long broad nails and loop fingerprints on Cancer
types. They’re very intuitive, good communicators, and prefer to be frank whenever
possible. Stable Cancers offer firm sincere handshakes.
Cancers are intuitive, empathetic, complex, and well aware of
the needs of others. They can be hard to understand because they hide their
most vulnerable selves beneath a facade of nurturing actions. Try to pry into
their private lives and they’ll retreat into their shells. Cautious and
vulnerable, Cancer needs to be direct, rather than tactful and diplomatic. In
the final analysis, the only thing that makes sense for them is to choose
satisfying over safe and not try to avoid emotional confrontation. They must
cultivate intimacy wherever and whenever they can. Their feelings may swing
from loving and devoted to secretive, reclusive, obsessive, and fearful of the
future. When Cancers are feeling controlled or confined, they can become dark
and moody. They must feel protected and secure before they can fully trust.
Once trust is earned, loyalties run deep. You’ll see intimacy in the many lines
running parallel to the lifeline within the ball of thumb. Healthy family
connections and close friendships nourish them. The more structure,
organization and detail in their lives, the more stable and secure their
Healthy Cancers are loving, compassionate, and devoted beings.
They’re most compatible with other feeling types.
They feel most safe with responsible, reliable, and dependable practical types.
They’re sorely challenged by thinking and intuitive types.
They’re nervous they’ll be left holding the psychic garbage bag (they often
are) and forced to deal with the consequences when idealism, optimism,
enthusiasm, and logic wane (and they do). Cancers are acutely consciousness of
everyone’s emotional needs. When feeling insecure, they can become internally
secretive while becoming externally over-ambitious. Cancers work hardest when
income matches output. Motivated by good food, emotional security, and fertile
soil, their main mission is to nourish their family, protect their home, and exercise
their creative imaginations.
Demeter, Greek goddess of grain and the harvest, is a
combination of Virgo and
an overprotective Cancer mother. When Pluto abducted Persephone, Demeter pleaded
to her siblings for help, but ended up exercising her power over both gods and
man by creating winter (death) in order to negotiate Persephone’s return.
“You’ve got to play to lose”
The old guy above is the young guy with me in this picture
captured forty-five years ago in a photo booth at Kennywood Amusement Park in
Pittsburgh, Pa. My best friend, Lloyd Wilson (Cancer) and I met while working
part time at a wood, metal, and plastics model making machine shop where we
fabricated preschool children’s learning devices for the University of
Pittsburgh. We made toys for ourselves on our own time. Soon to graduate from
different colleges, I was destined to become an industrial designer. Lloyd
would continue to be an artist. We were a couple of Peter Pans on our way to
Lloyd didn’t get much nurturing as a child. He developed his
quick wit and sense of humor while trying to avoid extreme physical abuse. When
his mother was happy, Lloyd was safe. When she was unhappy, she’d incite
Lloyd’s rage filled father to brutally beat him. Lloyd’s mother sadly committed
suicide, his father was committed to a mental institution, and his beautiful
sister, (who I’d met while on vacation in Florida) with two young children, a great
husband, and apparently idyllic life, suddenly and unexpectedly blew her head
off with a shotgun. Lloyd’s slender rectangular palms and long fingers embody
his Cancer Sun, Venus, and North Node, which is conjunct my Mercury. His Gemini
ascendant is exactly conjunct my vertex and is the midpoint of my eighth house planetary
stellium in Gemini. Lloyd’s head and life lines are tightly intertwined at
their beginnings. It reveals his desire to feel needed and appreciated. Lloyd
was a sensitive child who needed love and support, but didn’t get any.
Lloyd tried hard to fix his broken parents, but they were too
sick to support him. Instead, they judged, criticized, and abused him. Lloyd somehow
survived without anyone’s approval, though he thrives on appreciation. He’ll
give his friends the shirt off his back, but they had better never take him for
granted. Lloyd has literally given me the shirt off his back in my moment of
need. I was on my way to an important meeting and got a nasty stain on my
shirt. Before I could blink, Lloyd took off his shirt and traded with me.
Cancers are collectors. Some stockpile food in case of shortage
or emergency. Lloyd collects art books, literature (he’s the most well-read
person I know), religious art, art supplies, tools, and clothing. When wealthy
people die, their families donate clothing to Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
Lloyd has a keen eye for the finest designer clothing. He’s always first to pick
through the merchandise. He’s a master bargain hunter. I call him my personal
dresser. We wear the same sizes. Lloyd chooses coats, suits, and jackets with
me in mind. He has gifted me with suits worth thousands of dollars that he paid
ten or fifteen dollars for. Many had never been worn.
Lloyd would say to me, “People who tell the truth don’t need
good memories”. I’d reply, “We may be bastards, but at least we’re honest”.
Over fifty years of friendship have witnessed many challenging lessons in humility
for us. We managed to delay balancing our outer and inner worlds by always
choosing to learn the hard way. We finally had to learn that there were no
shortcuts and to let go of our need to be greater than we were.
Lloyd’s extremely flexible thumbs symbolize his ability to adapt to horrible circumstances. They also embody his generosity of heart and spirit. It’s very hard for Lloyd to say “NO”. He likely doesn’t realize it, but the gold ring on the bottom middle finger of Lloyd’s unconscious hand symbolizes his need to have clear boundaries, be frugal, and not give everything away.
Lloyd Wilson is
Pittsburgh’s best kept secret because he loves his anonymity.
His artwork reveals a magical spirit, but few will truly get to know him. Lloyd
personifies Cancer’s best qualities. He’s supportive, sympathetic, receptive,
reflective, intuitive, imaginative, and extremely devoted to friends and
Cancer is a cardinal water sign, ruled by our moon. Our moon influences our oceans and tides. Cancer is the beginning of summer and the symbolic mother of the USA. Let’s examine the transits of Pluto and Uranus through Cancer in the 20th Century and their influence on personal and collective psyche. I’m publishing this post as our Sun is entering the sign of Cancer.
Pluto (planet of sex, death, transformation, and other people’s
resources), transited Cancer from 1913 to 1938. Partisan politics, nationalism,
and isolationism transformed world ideologies. World War I became World War II.
In 1913, President Wilson pressed a button in the White House that blew up the
Gamboa Dike at the Isthmus of Panama, creating a canal between oceans, and
transforming intercontinental travel by sea. Wilson legislated the Carter-Owen
Bill that established a Federal Reserve System to transform the strangle hold
on the nation’s currency and credit system by banks. Now Plutocratic corporations
are strangling us.
Daylight Saving Time
transformed our nation’s clocks and schedules. Transcontinental telephone
service transformed international communications. World infrastructures and
atomic energy transformed planetary energy sources and usages. NBC was the
first Nationwide Broadcasting Company. Wall Street prospered from war while
soldiers earning $16 per month died in the trenches. President Wilson
established a lottery style draft promoting patriotism. Congress passed the
Espionage Act fining draft dodgers $10,000 and imposing a twenty-year jail
sentence. No child was left behind.
“Do your bit” encouraged citizens to buy Liberty Bonds.
Wheatless-meatless days were promoted. The end of 1919 marked the end of the
Influenza pandemic that caused half a million deaths and a quarter of the
nation’s population to be sick. Prohibition banned liquor for all citizens.
Black markets and bootlegging industries flourished. Black leader Marcus Garvey
organized ‘The Empire of Africa’ with 500,000 followers. He led the largest
mass exodus of Blacks with the least sense of brotherhood in U.S. history.
In 1929, doubt, fear, and panic upset our stock market as we faced our darkest hour. Foundations and structures of home and family transformed. Pluto in Cancer birthed many people who spent their lives taking care of family. Overdeveloped senses of responsibility, guilt, and obligation motivated their children to become dropouts and runaways. That hasn’t worked either.
Uranus (planet of sudden unexpected change, rebellion, and revolution) transited the sign of Cancer from 1949 to 1955. Mothers stopped staying at home and went to work. Women began wearing the “bikini”, a fashionable French bathing suit. ‘I Love Lucy’, a comic show about a housewife and her Cuban bandleader husband became the most popular show on TV. Ranch houses and basement playrooms were popular. The subconscious mind was explored in psychology. If you were born between 1949 and 1955, your psyche is somewhere in time and space between rational and aware and oversensitive and fearful.
We may want to think twice before we elect (or appoint) another
Cancer President. Four USA Presidents were born under the sign of Cancer. George
W Bush (7/6/1946), with his intuitive hands, has an egocentric character to
match his Leo rising. George Bush revealed the worst qualities of
Cancer and Leo in his behavior, presidential intentions, and actions.
Check out these similarities between the four Cancer Presidents.
Like George Bush and Al Gore, John Quincy Adams finished second
in popular vote behind General Andrew Jackson. There was no majority. The
choice was put before the House of Representatives. House Speaker, Henry Clay,
swung the election to Adams. When Adams appointed Clay as Secretary of State,
Jackson followers cried, “Corrupt bargain”. “Of all the men whom it was ever my
lot to accost and to waste civilities upon, he was the most doggedly and
systematically repulsive. With a vinegar aspect, cotton in his leathern ears,
and hatred in his heart, he sat like a bulldog among spaniels.” W.H.
President Calvin Coolidge shared a birthday with the Declaration of Independence. He was infamous for “holding his tongue”, earning him the title, “Silent Cal”. Two of his sayings were: “If you don’t say anything, you won’t be called on to repeat it.” and “The business of America is business.” “He was an economic fatalist with a God given inertia. He knew nothing and refused to learn”. William Allen White
The 38th President, Gerald Rudolph Ford Jr., didn’t know he was adopted until he was seventeen. Gerry didn’t lift a finger around the house. His wife, Betty performed all the domestic chores. As Speaker of the house, Ford passionately pleaded for escalation of the war in Vietnam. He urged “unleashing devastating air and sea power”. He failed to impeach liberal Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas as a favor to his buddy Richard Nixon. Ford granted Nixon a “full complete and absolute pardon” for all crimes relating to Watergate. Ford blamed democrats for a disastrous rate of inflation and warned that electing more would “jeopardize world peace”. He admitted to never reading books, but did find time to watch football on TV.
Congressman Robert Drinan said, “I cannot dislike him personally
— he’s cordial and gracious, but he’s consistently wrong and consistency is a
virtue of small minds. He’s never proposed a constructive solution to
anything”. Lyndon Johnson quipped, Ford “had played too much football with his
helmet off” ~ “Jerry’s the only man I ever knew who can’t walk and chew gum at
the same time”. Reverend Duncan Littlefair declared, “Ford isn’t a bad man, but
he’s dumb—dumb. He shouldn’t be dumb either. He went to school just like
The Dalai Lama (Cancer) is “The Reborn Soul of Buddha”. Orpheus, singer, priest, healer, poet, and musician in Greek myth, he charmed and enchanted Death into letting him enter the matrix of collective unconscious to find his beloved Eurydice. After death warned Orpheus that he’d lose Eurydice if he looked back, a moment of weakness caused him to look back and lose her. The Dalai Lama fled Tibet in 1959 to live as a “simple monk” in a remote corner of Northern India. Unable to return, he chose to promote world peace and love. If hindsight is 20/20, then we must choose hindsight as we vote in 2020.
Millions of Geminis are born each year from May 20 ~ June 21. Regardless
of sun sign, three periods each century share Gemini psyche and psycho-social paradigms
with corresponding karmic responsibilities, missions, and retributions.
Born 12/24/1945 to 8/11/1947 (age 70-72), 8/6/1964 to 2/21/1966 (50–52), and 3/15/1983 to 11/1/1984 (32–33), share a karmic debt and responsibility to join society, embrace humanity, and share higher consciousness. It’s time to give ourselves a helping hand; our own. Pictured on the left are members of the post WWII generation. George W Bush, Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, and I share the same Gemini lunar north node. Uranus was also in Gemini at the time. Bill Clinton and George Bush had opportunities to raise public consciousness, but blew it by thinking their job was about them and indulging in their weaknesses. Sadly, history is repeating itself. Donald Trump, a Gemini, one man obstacle course, human wrecking crew, lover of gilded towers, collector of polished brass cages, glitzy gambling casinos, golden pedestals, graven images, beauty queens, shark tanks, and celebrity idols is a magnet for greedy gluttons and feckless fools.
Donald (Leo rising) doesn’t care about us. His hubris is harming our world. Bill Clinton (Leo) and George Bush (Leo rising) cared, but made personal and political choices ending as lessons in hubris that radically altered their histories and destinies. Donald is raising public consciousness by teaching us what not to do, how not to be, and how not to lose what we have, to value what we had. Hindsight needs to vote and win in 20/20. Who we choose now will influence how Uranus will transit Gemini in 2025 and behave for the following seven years.
Our only outer planet to transit Gemini in the 20th Century
was Uranus from 1942~1949. Social ideas and cultural paradigms shifted towards
education. The U.S. Supreme Court abolished religion in public schools. The GI
Bill enabled thousands of people to go to college. Radio and television dominated
media all over the world. The first computer calculation, ENIAC (Electronic
Numerical Integrator and Computer), was born at the University of Pennsylvania
in 1946. Columbia Records introduced the 33 1/3 rpm “long playing record”.
The United Nations held its first session in London. The Atomic Energy
Commission was created. The United States joined NATO (North Atlantic Treaty
Organization). People born 1942 ~ 1949 with Uranus in Gemini are mentally restless,
have nervous temperaments, and minds that grasp new ideas quickly. Unfortunately,
common sense is no longer good sense. What happened to healthy and sane?
ENIAC has come a long way since 1946. Internet is a transmutation of Hermes principle of mentalism. Hermes knew how to connect with anyone at any place and time and transmit his ideas and images without external hardware and software. Hermes taught that our brain is our hardware and our mind is our software. Mind can be a powerful and effective communication tool that enables us to make good sense, connect with others , tune our links, and behave appropriately.
Wake up and whiff the weirdness! The human race has become a race against bad shit happening. If we continue to substitute money for values, religion for spirituality, and bad ideas for good sense, we will seal our fate by not choosing ourselves, each other, our planet, and our destiny as equal and fair. Help Hermes ‘Law of Polarity’ transform ten negative character traits into ten positive character traits. You’re judge, jury, and executioner!
‘Imagine the Opposite’
Superficial ~ creating and implementing products without healthy vision, foresight, well thought out marketing plans, and/or adequate financial framework
Dilettante ~ Technology for the sake of technology
Commercial ~ inability to integrate content and advertising
Detachment ~ Banner Syndrome creating consumer numbness to advertising
Cleverness ~ too many bright colorful sugar coated widgets
Sneakiness ~ invasion of privacy / Spam / Cookies / Viruses
Fickleness ~ user characterized as a statistic for future mailing lists
Babbling ~ too much hype, grease, bullshit, and too many alternate truths
Anything is better than nothing ~ boring graphics / poor bandwidth
E-business produces e-contamination and creates e-Pollution. We can
close landfills, but what do we do with toxic cyber-fills and hazardous digital
spills? E-garbage is created and collected and not properly disposed of. How
do we recycle, reuse, and recreate cyber-toxins and poisonous dot-coms? Psychic
garbage is the birthplace of all physical garbage. Perhaps we should encourage
psychic abortions for hypocrites.
You don’t have to have a Taurus sun, moon, ascendant, aspects, or house placements to be Taurus. ‘Pure types’ have firm, pink, elastic skin, dense mount consistency, and a bulging percussion under pinkie finger. Large stiff thumbs and short stiff fingers embody stubbornness, determination, and tenacity. Full rosy balls of thumbs symbolize love of family, children, food, nature, comfort, luxury, art, music, and all things beautiful. When a ball of thumb is surrounded by a long clear deep life line, that person is blessed with good health. Long clear fate lines also symbolize strong purpose, goals, and sense of destiny. These are all generalizations to be adjusted based on the gestalt of a person.
Deep lines and clear skin ridges reveal trails, trials, and tribulations to be navigated and guided by anyone who learns. Taurus has few extra lines. Requiring security and stability, they think and feel in practical ways. Long graceful heart lines ending under the index finger are romantic and sentimental. Being ‘old fashioned’ is natural. People with long heart lines often see others as they want them to be, instead of how they really are. Head lines closely intertwined with life lines at their beginnings must be appreciated and never taken for granted. Loop and arch fingerprints add adaptability and practicality. Square finger tips reinforce a need for order and stability. Depending on size, second knots are more or less concerned with keeping everything in its place. The larger the knot, the more compulsive the need for order in the area that knot represents. Dominant middle phalanges embody practical pursuits and dominant bottom phalanges prefer sensual. The hand pictured above belongs to someone with a Pisces sun and a Taurus hand and character.
Taurus is driven by their physical senses. These responsible, practical, pragmatic, objective, reliable, and dependable individuals manage and maintain the material world. They only trust what they can see and feel, not ideas, intuitions, or inspirations. As creatures of habit, they get addicted to routine and order. Being bogged down in practical and mundane matters makes it hard to access their abstract abilities and imagination. They procrastinate at beginnings and endings, another unproductive habit, which opposes their need to be responsible, caring, and appreciated.
Taurus embodies Aphrodite’s desire for comfort and beauty. Venus gives form to wealth and power. She loves her family, friendships, home, food, nature, art, and music. Her need for physical security and stability drives her practical attitudes. She’s honest, dependable, and trustworthy, and valued by all for her natural warmth and good sense. When she’s healthy, she won’t bend the truth or perform a song and dance act for anyone. She’s loyal, affectionate, and charming, and can also be controlling, jealous, and possessive. She’s not a great salesperson as she takes rejection personally. She thrives in real estate, banking, food, and fashion. Her challenges are to trust her gut, give up control, and let go when it no longer makes sense to hang on. Taurus can be the best Bull and the worst Minotaur.
Pope John Paul ll embodied many positive Taurus qualities. He got the rich to share wealth with the poor. He was the first Pope to visit a synagogue, encouraging Catholics and Jews to love one another. An assassination attempt nearly killed him; and still, he rose to address countless chaotic church stresses and messes.
J. Krishnamurti, spiritual guide, made good sense to and for everyone
Leonardo da Vinci was the original hipster, great artist, and inventor
Sigmund Freud was father of modern psychoanalysis
Karl Marx developed the theory of socialism
Martha Graham was mother of modern dance
Katherine Hepburn was Grande Dame of American stage and movies

“The great mass of people will more easily fall victim to a big
lie than a small one”. The darkest depths of Taurus created the monster from
Hell from 1933 to 1945. Adolph Hitler transformed our world by empowering
anger, fear, and terror and manipulating masses with symbolic imagery. Hitler
was responsible for over thirty million deaths.

mass suicide in 1978
Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh had no remorse for his evil

Alchemy isn’t about turning lead into gold. It’s the art and science of guiding and balancing Saturn and the Sun. We can all be our own best friends and bull shit detectors. Having virtue, honesty, integrity, dignity, nobility, discipline, structure, focus, persistence, and determination are keys to healthy humanism and heroism. Taking responsibility for healthy attitudes, critical thinking, constructive planning, realistic goal setting, healthy values, and honest actions, transform our inner and outer worlds. Embrace your best qualities, master your darkness, manage your life, and be an alchemist. Everyone has Taurus in their symbolism and psyche.
Personal and collective psyche transform as our outer planets pass through our zodiac. Uranus was our only outer planet to transit Aries in the 20th Century (1927–1935). Uranus in Aries brought fierce individualism, pioneering spirit, abundant energy, and limitless financial resources to facilitate bringing concepts to fruition. Uranus invigorated our individual and collective psyche through revolutionary technological changes. Here are some images and events inspired and symbolized by Uranus’s path through Aries.

Uranus completed its eighty-four year cycle in the spring of
2011, turbulently returning to Aries to crumble regimes, topple demagogues,
ignite cities, and fuel an Arab Spring that would spread across the Mid-East.
Devastating earthquakes in Japan forever changed how governments look at
nuclear power policies. We’re still dealing with the fallout and consequences.
Protestors in Spain set the stage for Occupy Movements in New York and London.
Osama Bin Laden was killed. His demise appeared on Twitter before it was
officially announced by the Whitehouse. WikiLeaks raised our awareness of government
secrets, conspiracies, and everything we should never take for granted!
Irrational interpretations of our second amendment have been adopted
by extremist and fundamentalist ideologues. Armies of angry, confused, and
frustrated folk with semi-automatic weapons of mass destruction are only a
banana peel away from becoming nutcases with guns. The NRA, evangelicals, corrupt
politicians, and partisan politics have laid the groundwork for another Civil
War as Uranus leaves Aries. The Devil tempts and seduces his disciples to betray
our minds, hearts, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and planet. Too many
emperors, beasts, and frogs are clothed in lies and alternative facts and must
be seen through a lens of good sense. Even a catastrophe may take many years and
many hard lessons before real change is implemented.
Uranus’s unpredictability, along with blood, guts, and gore of war are a scary combo. Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn can be noble and highly spiritual or poisoned by passion, devoured by lust, and consumed by greed, hatred, fear, and terror. We must shift our broken philosophical and spiritual paradigms or be doomed to MPTSD (mass post-traumatic stress disorder). The “Big Bang” is a tale of neutrons, plastics recycling, supermarkets, laundromats, homogenized milk, Wonder Bread, Scotch Tape, and the Model T. Why has the human race become a race against bad shit happening? Must we always lose what we have to value what we had?
