TAURUS & PSYCHE

Save

“Since I gave up hope, I feel much better”. Pundits joke, but having no hope is not a laughing matter. It doesn’t take a seer to see that the human race has become a race against bad shit happening. We’re primed and ready for a loss of hope and faith.  Programmed to feel impotent, incompetent, and indifferent, we’re resigned to apathy and acceptance of the poisoning of the positive results of the hard lessons learned and resolutions made when Uranus last transited Taurus from 1935~1942.

The USA went off the gold standard. People focused on values and questioned materialism. President Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act. Labor organized, forming unions that went on strike and engaged in sit-downs across the nation. There was strength in solidarity. President Roosevelt defended the Four Essential Freedoms: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, Freedom from Want, and Freedom from Fear. What happened?

Uranus in Taurus stimulated aristocracy, autocracy, and plutocracy. Greed and anti-socialism were nourished and flourished. Uranus in Taurus brought us William Randolph Hurst and Orson Welles, two bulls, who bullied each other over the creation and release of the movie, ‘Citizen Kane’. Self-righteously determined, Welles smugly, immodestly, and arrogantly modeled the notorious media mogul Charles Foster Kane after Hearst. Despite his abundant natural charm, brilliant portrayal, ground breaking cinematography, and exceptional directing, Welles art was no match for Hearst’s wealth and capacity to influence courts and public opinion. Welles persisted in his righteous defiance of Hearst, while Hearst relentlessly tortured Welles with legalities and bludgeoned him with bad publicity until Welles could no longer afford to hang on to his principles, rise to his challenges, or control his self-indulgences. Like Kane, Welles longed for his lost innocence too late in life.

‘Less is more’ learned Midas as he yearned for a touch of gold, got it, and transformed his beloved daughter and their loving relationship into a cold hunk of metal. His food turned to gold as it touched his lips. One moral of Midas is having stability, security, and good health, meaningful work, satisfying relationships, happiness, and not needing more. Healthy people value what they have, nourish their relationships, choose higher purpose, and feel satisfaction and fulfillment without affluence. Having too much or too little of anything raises our awareness of what truly matters. Black and white, all and nothing, good and evil, love and hate, and rich and poor are opposites of equal value; identical in nature, but different by degree. An old billionaire dying of cancer will gladly trade his $$$ for youth and good health. A glamorous celebrity with a brain injured child will gratefully scrub public toilets at Grand Central Station to heal her child.

Can a ‘Stable Genius’ destabilize a nervous and fickle public with lies and manipulation? Our political, financial, and religious ideologies, philosophies, and paradigms are in danger! Will we see our Emperor for who he is or only dressed in the clothes he chooses us to see? The New York Stock Exchange and Federal Reserve are bulls. Uranus will enter Taurus two weeks from now for seven years.

Faulty ideological, philosophical, and spiritual paradigms must shift or our culture will face a Black Tuesday worse than ‘29. As transiting Saturn opposes our Stock Exchange’s natal Chiron and squares its natal Moon, transiting Pluto will square natal Jupiter, Uranus will conjunct Venus and Neptune will oppose Mars! People born 1935 ~ 1942 know and understand that unexpected gain and reversal means that we must lose what we have to learn to value what we had. It’s time for a new generation to learn those very same lessons again.

There’s a lot of nostalgia and talk of Civil War these days. Black and white wages endless wars on battlefields of infinite shades of gray. Needing guns is a symptom of a decaying culture. What will we do when partisan Republican bullies with their laws, fascists and terrorists with their semi-automatic weapons of mass-destruction, and evangelical fundamentalists with their bibles and guns show up at our doors? I’m not a big fan of guns in general, but I’ve been thinking a lot about self-defense. Most sensible people are scared of crazy people with guns. The idea of protecting family, friends, and humanity is good, but the idea of shooting someone or getting shot stimulates horrible fantasies, terrible ideas, and supports unhappy states of being for me. Will I purchase my first weapon?

Clients ask, “How long is my life?” “When will I die?” Life is about quality, not quantity. Everyone dies. I encourage my clients to be responsible for their thoughts and feelings. Alchemy is not transforming lead into gold. Alchemy is melding Saturn with the Sun by synchronizing and harmonizing the Sun’s talents, energy, optimism, and initiative with Saturn’s skills, skepticism, master planning, determination, and enduring patience. We need all of our planets, families, friends (no matter how dysfunctional), and everyone else to live, work, and play in harmony. Courage, strength, wisdom, and grace embody four paths to achieving and maintaining good mental, emotional, and physical health. Responsibility, discipline, determination, and devotion are ideas, ideals, and values that build sound structures on solid foundations. Spirituality is earned by practicing faith, virtue, integrity, loyalty, dignity, nobility, and honesty. Shine your brightest light on your most valuable talents, abilities, and desires. Be clear in your intentions, decisions, and actions. You can be an alchemist, own best friend, and master bull shit detector.

Said Donald, “Our minions I’ll galvanize,
And with porn stars and thugs again fraternize.
Vlad, I’m walking on air,
But though Mueller was fair,
For my insults I’ll never apologize.”

ARIES & PSYCHE

Personal and collective psyche transform as our outer planets pass through our zodiac. Uranus was our only outer planet to transit Aries in the 20th Century (1927–1935). Uranus in Aries brought fierce individualism, pioneering spirit, abundant energy, and limitless financial resources to facilitate bringing concepts to fruition. Uranus invigorated our individual and collective psyche through revolutionary technological changes. Here are some images and events inspired and symbolized by Uranus’s path through Aries.

Physics and astronomy created the “Big Bang” theory of an ever-expanding universe

NEUTRON was discovered

King Kullen was the first Supermarket in Queens, NY

Wonder Bread and Homogenized Milk were mass-manufactured and marketed

First Laundromat opened in Fort Worth Texas

Flashbulb was invented

3M Company introduced transparent Scotch Tape

Nylon fiber was invented

First plastics recycled in Britain

Bell Laboratories developed stereophonic sound

A German ophthalmologist pioneered the first contact lens

First drive-in movie theatre opened in New Jersey

Model A replaced the Model T Ford

First air-conditioned office building in USA ~ San Antonio Texas

Jet engine patented

Charles Lindbergh made first solo flight from New York to Paris

America was captive when Lindbergh’s 20-month-old son was kidnapped

Mao Tse-Tung developed guerrilla warfare tactics that conquered China

Leon Trotsky was expelled from the communist party

Federal government entered field of hydroelectric power with Boulder Dam

First all talking motion picture, ‘The Jazz Singer’, starring Al Jolson

Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences was born

The stock market crashed, forcing people to re-examine their values and institutions

Uranus completed its eighty-four year cycle in the spring of 2011, turbulently returning to Aries to crumble regimes, topple demagogues, ignite cities, and fuel an Arab Spring that would spread across the Mid-East. Devastating earthquakes in Japan forever changed how governments look at nuclear power policies. We’re still dealing with the fallout and consequences. Protestors in Spain set the stage for Occupy Movements in New York and London. Osama Bin Laden was killed. His demise appeared on Twitter before it was officially announced by the Whitehouse. WikiLeaks raised our awareness of government secrets, conspiracies, and everything we should never take for granted!

Irrational interpretations of our second amendment have been adopted by extremist and fundamentalist ideologues. Armies of angry, confused, and frustrated folk with semi-automatic weapons of mass destruction are only a banana peel away from becoming nutcases with guns. The NRA, evangelicals, corrupt politicians, and partisan politics have laid the groundwork for another Civil War as Uranus leaves Aries. The Devil tempts and seduces his disciples to betray our minds, hearts, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, and planet. Too many emperors, beasts, and frogs are clothed in lies and alternative facts and must be seen through a lens of good sense. Even a catastrophe may take many years and many hard lessons before real change is implemented.

“Hasta la vista baby”

Uranus’s unpredictability, along with blood, guts, and gore of war are a scary combo. Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn can be noble and highly spiritual or poisoned by passion, devoured by lust, and consumed by greed, hatred, fear, and terror. We must shift our broken philosophical and spiritual paradigms or be doomed to MPTSD (mass post-traumatic stress disorder). The “Big Bang” is a tale of neutrons, plastics recycling, supermarkets, laundromats, homogenized milk, Wonder Bread, Scotch Tape, and the Model T. Why has the human race become a race against bad shit happening?  Must we always lose what we have to value what we had?

PISCES & HANDS

You don’t need a Pisces sun, moon, planets, planetary aspects, or house placements in your natal astrology to be Piscean. Pisces is a feeling type. Feeling types have long slender rectangular palms and long fingers. Pure Pisceans have dominant top phalanges on long slender fingers, smooth joints, conical tips, and loop prints, especially on index fingers. They have medium set mildly flexible shapely thumbs, sensitive looking fingers, a combo of round and conical fingertips, long narrow nails, and head and life lines loosely interwoven at their beginnings. Pinkies with tiny bottom and middle phalanges and no knots symbolize having little need for physical order and / or material wealth. Pisceans with inwardly curving pinkie fingers avoid emotional confrontation (even more than other curved pinkie types).

In my experience, Pisces tend to have more flexible hands and fingers, more peripheral shallow lines, and less deeply etched basic heart, head, life, and fate lines than Scorpio and Cancer types. Pisces is the epitome of spiritual truth. Astrologically, Neptune (Poseidon, King Triton), ruler of the seas, personifies emotion, feelings, instinct, and personal and collective unconscious. Water can be the most calming or destructive force in nature. Neptune rules mind and emotion altering substances like prescription and recreational drugs, nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine. Anything that alters consciousness, fuels visions, inspires illusions, and promotes delusions is Neptunian. Neptune’s esoteric foundation is spirituality. Its mundane correspondence is religion. Religion without spirituality is blind.

George Washington (2/22) was Pisces. CEOs of Citigroup, IBM, Merck, DuPont, and Bank One were Pisces. One mysterious Pisces is Michael Dell, founder and CEO of Dell Computer, world’s largest privately controlled High-Tech company. Many years ago, before Dell was a major player, Michael prophesied, “We are at the dawn of the next industrial revolution. Our world is becoming more intelligent and more connected by the minute, and ultimately will become intertwined with a vast Internet of Things, paving the way for our customers to do incredible things. This is why we created Dell Technologies. We have the products, services, talent and global scale to be a catalyst for change and guide customers, large and small, on their digital journey.” Like Ariel, daughter of King Triton, ruler of the Seas and our unconscious, Michael visualizes what he wants by delving into our collective unconscious. He intuitively knows what we need and hones in on that. Michael must keep a watchful eye out for Ursula the Octopus (a conglomerate) who lusts for control of his empire.

Pisces is well suited to teaching, human resources, and helping professions. Many are at home in visual arts and music. Hand qualities vary depending on natural talents and abilities, decisions, and actions. Piscean strengths include compassion, humility, and faith. Not known for mental or emotional decisiveness, Pisces tend to be private, and spiritual. You must earn their trust and intimacy. Impressionable and easily influenced, many attempt to escape reality when their circumstances get too hard. Some become substance abusers like Johnny Cash, Jerry Lewis, and Liza Minelli.

As the most sensitive, least acquisitive, and most introverted of all types, Pisces is frequently misunderstood because the feminine gender communicates through a lens of feeling. The most practical Pisces have strong earth (Practical) with a good backup of air (Thinking) and fire (Intuitive). When head and heart are balanced, deep clear basic lines, large stiff thumbs, square fingertips, developed knots, broad nails, arch, and whorl fingerprints combine to empower Pisces physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Pisces is my most and least favorite sign. My father, brother, and daughter (zero degrees) are my three favorite Pisces. Today is dad and George Washington’s Birthday.

Dad was born 2/22/22. His Sun, Venus, Uranus, and ascendant were in Pisces. My brother, Gary (Pisces), sister, Jennifer (Taurus), and I (Gemini) were blessed with dad. Conceived on my parents wedding night, I was born nine months and one day later. If the definition of a genius is an average kid with a Jewish mother, ours was father. My biggest fan, dad frequently embarrassed me. When I was seven, I played a Chopin Prelude on the radio. Dad distributed radios to every class in my grade school. He made sure everyone listened. Despite my mortification when I found out, I quickly became a celebrity in our little community. Though his pride in me was awkward sometimes, it was more fun than I imagined.

I never got to read dad’s hands, nor did I ever find a decent photo of them. I remember loving his warm, strong, and capable hands as a child. Dad had a firm hand shake, a grip of steel, and an energetic touch that was gentle and loving. Perhaps his Capricorn moon grounded and made him more practical on the outside. Dad died suddenly and unexpected 43 years ago of a massive heart attack at age 54. That catalyzed my interest in metaphysics and began my personal transformation. I miss and think of dad often, especially when I’m happiest.

Dad was an incredible storyteller. Scarcely a night passed in early childhood that my brother, sister, and I didn’t go off on an exciting imaginary adventure at bedtime. “BoBo”, the gorilla and “Squeaky”, the mouse were lifelong friends and magical creatures who dad physically embodied to engage us.

As most of us well know, most family home movies are incredibly boring ~ everyone waves at the camera and smiles all the time. Our family dreaded invitations to watch other people’s home movies. We used to act and create roles for ourselves in ours. Dad created commercials and strategically placed them at transitions between scenes to make the experience more fun for the viewer. I edited my favorite commercials from our archives and made this short video. Click here to see my childhood hero in action. The quality isn’t great (8mm), but the content is terrific.

PISCES & PSYCHE

Personal and Collective Psyche transform as outer planets change signs. The only outer planet to pass through Pisces in the 20th century was Uranus (1919–1928). Uranus, symbolic of sudden change, completed its eighty-four year cycle and passed through Pisces from 2003–2011. Pisces is ruled by Neptune, god of the seas, eternally linked to our personal and collective unconscious. Uranus moved to Aries in December 2011 and begins its final journey through Taurus in April of 2019. Stock markets and interest rates may fluctuate when smart investors and psychologists realize that fake news is real news when enough people believe it. I’ve illustrated historical similarities and differences between 1919 and 2003 with documented facts and parodied portraits of politicians, priests, and predators who continue to con us and get away with it.

1919 ~ worst baseball scandal (Black Sox) in history occurred when a grand jury brought indictments against eight players from the White Sox. Accused of throwing the 1919 World Series, they were eventually found not guilty.

2003 ~ complicit use of illicit steroids was the biggest scandal in modern baseball.

Bottle of bonded medicinal whiskey

“For Medical Purposes Only”

1919 ~ Eighteenth Amendment prohibited the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors, which encouraged distilling, brewing, and bootlegging.

2003 ~ George W. Bush prohibited Medicare from negotiating drug prices. Black markets for drugs from India and Canada thrived. Cannabis became medicinal.

1921 ~ formal investigations into the Teapot Dome oil scandals were initiated.

2003 ~ USA invaded Iraq under false pretenses to secure oil resources.

1924 ~ worst tornado in US history obliterated 35 towns in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois.

2005 ~ Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

1919 ~ World War I ended; consumerism, immigration, discrimination, fundamentalism, and extremism grew. Uranus in Pisces spawned Neptune rising as four million steel workers and miners walked off the job to protest ‘too many work hours’ and “inhumane pay”.

2003 ~ increased wage inequality between workers at the top, middle, and the rest of us, affected overall productivity, resulting in less wages and compensation for a typical worker. Real wages and compensation continue to stagnate.

Four horrible conservative Republican Presidents (Harding, Coolidge, Hoover, and George W Bush) held office while Uranus was in Pisces. The 30th President (born July 4), “Silent Cal” Coolidge said, “The business of America is business”. He also told us, “Biological laws tell us that certain divergent people will not mix or blend (Inferior Races of Asia).” Some things never change. Government and business enjoyed their time in bed together. Illicit affairs wielded temporarily absolute power over tightly woven webs of political, social, and cultural fabric. Plutocrats seduced and betrayed humanity for profit. Ironically, we call our dependence on corporations ‘Citizens United’. The warning label should read: ‘Unhealthy for 99%’.

Mission Accomplished?

Mission accomplished? In 2003, Uranus entered Pisces again. George W Bush began his ‘War on Terror’ carelessly wrecking Iraqi culture and disabling their energy infrastructure. Dick Cheney’s ex-employer, Halliburton, became a proud sponsor and benefactor of the war. Energy sources (wars) were rewarded to energy barons. Security for airports and seaports was carefully placed in the hands of chosen special interest contractors. Public Health Care was sacrificed on altars of pharmaceutical companies and health insurance czars. Social Security flirted with an untimely demise in the Stock Market.

In 1929, loss of faith in government and business infected humanity, and catalyzed the stock market crash! A lesson of GW Bush is a warning of what not to do: out-of-control federal domestic and military spending, government bailouts for financial and auto industries, and unfunded nebulous federal mandates like educational reform that transformed substantial surpluses into huge deficits. Democrats controlled both houses of Congress until the end of Bush in 2009.

Stable Genius

‘No Love’ is not ‘Tough Love’. One obligation and responsibility of wealth is truth and justice. Having great wealth is truly valuing family, friends, everyone, and everything else. The purpose of wealth is to be accountable, choosing a worthy cause and practically and effectively sharing whatever resources it takes to make a real difference.

Mentally, Emotionally, Morally, and Spiritually Bankrupt

Uranus in Pisces transformed traditional patterns of thrift and austerity into neo-consumerism and buying on credit. Two out of three Americans had electricity, refrigerators, and washing machines. Spending on recreation tripled. Henry Ford created new colors, green and maroon, as well as black. Mass tastes energized mass markets for Rice Krispies, Lender’s Bagels, Mounds Bars, Betty Crocker, and Peter Pan Peanut Butter, and many others.

“The real problem is liberal spending”

Credit and consumerism created the illusion of an easy convenient life. Uranus in Pisces inspired movie audiences to out attend church audiences. Movie houses, chain stores, and radio advertising proliferated. ‘Modern Romance’ magazine challenged moral codes. Critics believed consumerism was driving Americans into a soulless existence of materiality and conformity. Writer Sinclair Lewis highlighted humanity’s illusions and delusions, blaming mass production and consumption for “having created a bloodless, loveless, and standardized world”, a very scary reality.

Clueless Hypocrite

Which religions are practicing what they are preaching? Are emigrants and immigrants equal? Evidently, God commanded the KKK with over 40,000 hooded members to march on Washington DC in 1925. The resurgence targeted African Americans, blacks, immigrants, Catholics, and Jews. New immigration laws reduced a stream of immigrants to a trickle while congress decided to hinder the flow of immigrants based on quotas of 150,000 new immigrants yearly. Sound familiar?

Living Proof of Darwin’s Theory

Uranus in Pisces catalyzed a clash between science and religion. Intelligent Design and Creationism ignored modern science. Tennessee legislators voted it unlawful for any teacher in a state supported school, “to teach any theory that denies the story of man’s creation as taught in the bible”. Man descending from apes was unacceptable. John Scopes, high school biology teacher, taught ‘theory of evolution’. Scopes lost in the infamous “Scopes Monkey Trial”.

NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND

Religious culture manipulated school curriculum to cleanse obscenity, promote censorship, and discriminate against race and sexuality in literature and theater. No child was left behind. The German Bauhaus School of Architecture’s ‘less is more’ design philosophy influenced architecture and product design on a global scale. How many yachts do our savior oppressors need?

I was an industrial designer in 1969. At that time, ‘Intelligent Design’ was saving materials and money for manufacturers. Waste was not a problem, except for clean-up and disposal costs. Designers didn’t realize our planet was no bigger than our ability to infect her with a fatal dose of humanity’s own disease. Ignorantly and egoistically, I depleted, wasted, and polluted our natural resources. I rationalized my actions by creating fashion and justified my decisions by ignoring their consequences.

‘Intelligent design’ is not ‘smart design’. Smart designers create useful products and services using sustainable resources, efficient energy production, fewer pollutants, less waste, and finally reincarnating whatever waste remains into beneficial and constructive materials and products that add to humanity. The handwriting is on the wall. Humanity must shift a paradigm of living lies, to seeing, understanding, accepting, and embracing truth. Hate must be transformed by love and letting go of fear.

BELIEVE ME!

‘It’s not what you do, but what you can get away with that matters’. One clear lesson Donald Trump has taught us is common sense is not good sense. Losing our sanity doesn’t make any sense. We interpret fake news and decipher illegible and deceptive writing, while all news has become morally and spiritually bankrupted by leaders with perverse senses of truth. Emperors believe they know what’s best for us, weaving webs with warps of ‘no love’ and wefts of ‘tough love’. We joke of discrimination, greed, prejudice, hate, and hypocrisy of fools. It’s no joke. Being healthier, happier, more loving, and tolerant of ourselves, each other, and our planet is the only thing that makes good sense. We need leaders who can call on their courage, strength, wisdom, and grace to love us and do what’s best for all of us!

Much has happened since 1919. 164 years passed as Neptune transited Pisces from April 4, 2011 ~ April 1, 2025. It’s hard to foretell Neptune’s nebulosity because the lines between vision, illusion, and delusion blur. Pisces embodies endings of ages that begin new ages with spiritual enlightenment. The dusk of denial is the dawn of truth. Bad behavior is pandemic. Attitudes haven’t changed much. Must we die to be reborn? Why can’t we appreciate what we have when we lose what we value? History repeats its desperate and disparate need to teach and learn in the hardest ways possible. Has Neptune in Pisces catalyzed Spiritual Cancer?

Greed Incarnate

Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008. Uranus entered Aries in 2011. Pluto and Uranus combine to suddenly and unexpectedly transform character, energy, values, communications, business, transportation, health care, relationships, creativity, philosophy, politics, purpose, religion, spirituality, and our destiny. Greed is driven by Wealth, Power, and the Illusion of Self Importance. Huge footprints don’t mean huge hearts. The pathology of power fosters the denial of truth. Feeling futility catalyzes the delusion and disillusion of the will of 99%. Fear, hopelessness, and apathy are poisoning the Kool-Aid and too many of us are guzzling it.

DONALDEMORT and his DEMENTORS

Nonsense trumps good sense. Money trumps values. Religion trumps spirituality. Climate denial trumps science. Health insurance companies trump healthcare. Humanity is trumped by HMO’s, pharmaceuticals, and hospitals that prioritize profits over people. Prisons are privatized and trumped by profiteers, packed with prisoners (mostly black), proffered by plutocrats, and promoted by politicians who create laws that promote their own enforcement and profitability of prison populations. Prison hatcheries spawn fundamentalist and fanatical behaviors and frantic followers.

LOCK HIM UP Presidential Coin
Trust Me

Vampires don’t love us. They suck our blood. Wars are fought by have nots, who surrender their vital essences to Plutocrats, who squander them in luxury and leftovers. Why do we choose harmers over farmers? Do we really need fear, hate, and terror? Who are the real vermin and what should we do about them?

‘LOCK THEM UP’

Haves who are lucky enough to have earned what they have, and know how lucky they are, have great moral, ethical, and spiritual obligations and responsibilities to themselves and others. What are our ethical, moral and spiritual responsibilities and obligations?  As we help ourselves, we must help others. How can we protect our planet and still have what we need? How can we be more mentally and emotionally stable?  How can we renew our topsoil, clean our water and air, and employ renewable energy sources. We can send electric cars into space, but can we transform travel, bridges, tunnels, and not build more walls? Conceive the inconceivable. Healthy intent and free will makes a huge difference. Where is love?

AQUARIUS & PSYCHE

Look and See. Listen and Hear. Touch and feel. Think and know.

Personal and Collective Psyche shifts paradigms as Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto change sign. Uranus takes seven years to change sign and eighty-four years to orbit our sun through all twelve signs. Uranus returned to Aquarius twice in the 20th Century. 1912 to 1919 marked a time of sudden and unexpected political and social upheaval that challenged our spiritual ideologies, faith in humanity, and trust in ourselves. Uranus passed from Capricorn to Aquarius in 1996. Had humanity chosen love and brotherhood over selfishness, convenience, and fashion, we’d be building bridges instead of walls!

1912 ~ The “Unsinkable Titanic” sunk on its maiden voyage, a karmic lesson in hubris.

1913 ~ Tornadoes and floods devastated Middle America, killing 3,000 people and costing over $100,000,000… a very expensive lesson in preparedness.

1914 ~ World War I began. Fear, hatred, and terror levied a heavy toll on humanity.

1915 ~ A German submarine torpedoed the British ocean liner, Lusitania.

Alexander Graham Bell catalyzed mass communications when the first transcontinental phone call was made on Jan 25th, 1915. A powerful concept’s time had arrived.

Note: In Greek Mythology, the true father of the Cell Phone was Hermes, a real man and mystic teacher of Abraham. Hermes believed everything is made up of cells. Our brain is the hardware. Our job is to connect with other cells and fine tune our links.

1916 ~ would a wall have deterred Pancho Villa, Mexican revolutionary, from invading the USA? Woodrow Wilson retaliated by sending 6,000 troops into Mexico.

Official Gazette of London published the names of 80 United States firms suspected of trading with Germany. Prescott Bush was one banker who supported the Nazis.

1917 ~ USA declared war on Germany. Hitler’s enemies became our allies.

Bigotry was bountiful. The worst race riot in American history happened in Illinois.

Congress amended laws that prohibited beer, wine, and liquor from being profitable.

1918 ~ Daylight Savings Time began. Spanish Flu became the worst pandemic since the Bubonic Plague wiped out one quarter of Europe’s population in the 14th century.

1919 ~ Prohibition was ratified as the 18th amendment to our constitution.

Winners lose and losers win. Congress failed to ratify the Treaty of Versailles. President Wilson disagreed. He went on public tour to fight the decision and eventually died trying.

Male vanity and virility was popularized when Pfizer introduced Viagra. The stock market created a new form of temptation called “internet day trading”. DVDs became the fastest growing consumer electronics product in history. Bribes and drugs tarnished the Olympic Games. Our innocence and civil liberties were transformed by dissolving our ideas and delusions of private and social security and stability. What we think and how we feel about our past, present, and future is all that really matters.

Body piercing and tattoos became even more popular. President Clinton’s first political act of 1996 was to sign a welfare reform bill that made life harder for poor people. They became demoralized, deceived, and divided by the powers that be. Madeline Albright became the first female Secretary of State. Ellen DeGeneres became the first outwardly gay star of an ABC sitcom. Taiwan had its first democratic election. There were four major plane crashes. Why did we bomb Iraq when Uranus was still in Aquarius in 2003?

Neptune entered Aquarius in 1998. Neptune rules vision, illusion, delusion, and confusion.  The House of Representatives impeached Bill Clinton for giving “perjuriously false and misleading” testimony in front of a grand jury. Bill’s Hands, Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto are all in Leo. Bill was being Bill! Catholics and Protestants voted for peace in Ireland. Peace won.

The US government and twenty state attorney generals charged Microsoft with anti-trust practices for dominating the Internet access market. Bill Gates has a Scorpio Sun and intuitive hands. Imagine having the power to make a huge difference for our planet and humanity? What is the moral and spiritual responsibility of understanding that difference?

Neptune transited into Pisces in 2012. 1% of ego infected 99% of lesser ego with physical, emotional, ideological, psychological, philosophical, and spiritual dis-ease. Our delusions and deceptions about being old, poor, sick, and not being able to afford bad shit happening were dissolved. We must take responsibility for our values, hopes, fears, and choices. Fear and terror is preventing us from transforming our inequities.

Neptune in Pisces can symbolize billions of people seeking security, stability, and spiritual answers and finding despair, fear, and terror. If slavery and freedom are opposites, what shades of gray are you? The human race has become a race against bad shit happening. History will describe the 21st Century as an era of alternative facts and false profits for false prophets. HAVES rule have-nots. Plutocrats pay partisan politicians to permit the depletion and pollution of our planet, deregulation of public welfare, and control of health care, social security, and pension funds. We’re pawns, collateral damage, and statistics in a game of digital chess. Never in history have so many HAVES felt so fully entitled to manipulate and control so many have-nots.

CAPRICORN & PSYCHE

The full moon in Cancer arrives with this year’s winter solstice. As humanity races recklessly toward bad shit happening, Saturn solemnly reveals our faulty foundations, unstable structures, and horrible habits. The time has come to balance our personal and collective heads and hearts. Every thought, choice, and action has consequences. It’s time to let go of fear and begin loving and nourishing each other and our planet.

Outer planets symbolize massive transformations in both personal and collective psyches as they change signs. While Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transited Capricorn in the 20th Century, outdated paradigms and patterns of political institutions and social structures were shifted. Uranus in Capricorn revolutionized politics and business from 1989 to 1996. The Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall were ripped down. Germany was reunited on October 3, 1990. The political demarcation between East and West vanished. In 1991, the Soviet Union disintegrated into fifteen republics. The Americans with Disabilities Act prohibited discriminating against the disabled. Why have we regressed to Nationalism, Fear, and discrimination? Do we really need to build another wall that we’ll eventually tear down between the US and Mexico?

NASA successfully observed and recorded Uranus orbiting the outer limits of our solar system, thanks to our Voyager space probe. Nelson Mandela was released after 27 years behind bars and successfully galvanized Anti-Apartheid across the globe. Jean Bertrand Aristide, radical priest, became Haiti’s first freely elected president. Ten months after his election, the military seized control of government. After his USA asylum, Aristide returned to office in 1994, accompanied by 20,000 American troops. Operation Desert Storm liberated Kuwait from Iraqi invaders. Bosnia declared independence from Yugoslavia resulting in a religious civil war that pitted Serbs and Croats against Muslims. Why are we allowing genocide in Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, and so many other countries? Why are we supporting and promoting hatred around the world? Why are we wasting money on irrelevant outer space programs?

Johnny Carson retired after 30 years (Saturn return) of the TONITE show. Representatives from over 100 countries met in Rio de Janeiro in June of 1992 to discuss how to preserve the earth. Good intentions were no longer enough. The USA and UN brokered a prickly cease-fire to end ethnic cleansing. Why have we chosen leaders who ignore humanitarian and environmental values and instead worship greed? Why have we abandoned our good health and the good health of our planet?

Expect the unexpected. PLO leader Yassar Arafat shook hands with Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin to end hatred. The Irish Republican Army agreed to lay down its arms in exchange for a role in Northern Ireland’s political future. Smoking was banned in New York City restaurants. Women began smoking cigars. The Brady Bill for gun control was signed into law thirteen years after Brady was shot and paralyzed. Why are more semi-automatic weapons than ever being sold to crazy people and then being used in mass shootings in schools, religious institutions, and shopping malls, etc.?

When Neptune transited Capricorn from 1984-1998, lines between chemical industries and moral responsibilities dissolved. A gas leak at a Union Carbide plant in India killed over 3,000 people. British scientists pinpointed a hole in the earth’s ozone layer. Two years later in 1987, after seeing the hand writing on the wall, fifty-three nations signed a treaty pledging to reduce the number of CFCs in the atmosphere. The most serious nuclear accident in history occurred at Chernobyl, killing thirty-one people instantly. Later, 40,000 were diagnosed with cancer from too much exposure to radiation. The Exxon Valdez shipwreck was the worst oil spill in history. It contaminated hundreds of miles of Alaska shoreline and killed many thousands of creatures. Why are we still choosing to promote fossil fuels and environmental pollution over clean energy and sustainability?

Monsanto, creator of Agent Orange, PCB, DDT, and Dioxins, launched “Round-up Ready” GMO soybeans, approved by the FDA in 1994. “Frankenfood” was born.  Environmental activists fought back while FDA folly was parodied by late night pundits on TV. Mad Cow disease mysteriously appeared in the UK in 1996. The slim line between science fiction and reality was crossed when the first sheep was cloned in Scotland in 1997. The FDA approved a drug called AZT, designed to treat AIDS. El Nino was named and blamed for bizarre bad weather conditions in 1997 and 1998. Why are we ignoring science and climate change? Why haven’t we banned ‘Roundup’, knowing that it’s a carcinogen?

Neptune transformed our illusion of fatherhood. Convicted pussy grabber Bill Cosby was the most popular father in 1984. What a hypocrite he turned out to be. While Saturn transited Scorpio, Bill was clearly not practicing what he was preaching. Sadly, he had no awareness of his karma until Saturn returned to Scorpio in 2014. Racial bigots Archie Bunker and Homer Simpson were wildly popular fathers. ‘Married with Children’ warped our visions of fatherhood. Disney produced a powerful father and son story, ‘The Lion King’. Murphy Brown revealed a powerful animus to a national anima, hopefully teaching women not to give away their power. Why are we electing and appointing pussy grabbers and rapists to leadership roles in public office?

Ivan Boesky preached virtuosity and honesty while practicing insider trading. Frenzies of mergers, acquisitions, and takeovers began in 1980, destabilizing financial institutions. General Electric purchased media giants NBC and RCA. Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) collapsed. Regulators from 69 countries seized assets and charged officers who hid substantial losses from investors. Congress closed the House of Representatives Bank in the wake of scandal. Why are we gifting billionaires with our hard earned taxes?

Neptune dissolves political and financial structures. Mikhail Gorbachev reformed controls to keep the Soviet Union together. Growing concerns over growing federal deficit catalyzed the Gramm-Rudman-Hollings Act. Congress failed to control its spending, and rather than assume the massive mandatory cuts specified, it was scrapped in 1990. Reagan deficits soared to two trillion dollars (2X 1981). Black Monday suffered a stock market mini-crash with sudden steeply dropping stock prices. Texaco filed the largest bankruptcy in history. Why are our deficits greater than ever and our middle class and have-nots poorer and more desperate than ever?

History repeats itself. Power corrupts. The top 1% is above the law and beyond scrutiny. The 99% are well aware of the greed of the 1%.  Deceptive business practices, dark conspiracies, devious plutocrats and capitalists are dark manifestations of Pluto. Partisan politics, greed, hypocrisy, and selfishness must be replaced by healthy values, ethics, morality, and spirituality.

Nostradamus predicted the time of Pluto in Capricorn would destabilize major financial structures and burst the bubbles created by the illusion of social security. How can we reform broken social systems when greed owns our Congress and Senate? What happens when the Federal Reserve Bank (Capricorn) destabilizes? How do we prepare for fluctuating interest rates and inflation?

We need to recreate and refurbish our infrastructure and find revolutionary ways to manage our energy and environment. Fossil fuels must be utilized to create sustainable products and not be squandered. Recycling and reuse must be implemented on a massive scale to become practical and cost effective. Cyber-Terrorism is capable of reaching into any computer, cell phone, or electronic device. The list of necessities to be transformed is endless and eternal. We must build bridges, not walls.

The Declaration of Independence was signed July 4 1776. Among astrologers, there’s a dispute whether Gemini or Sagittarius is rising. No matter what, the USA Sun, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury are still in Cancer. As Pluto opposes those archetypes, we’ll try harder to control everyone and everything and be challenged for economic power and status as world leader. We’re smart-assed short-sighted little children who take what’s most valuable for granted.

NYC’s charter was signed January 1 1898 at 12:01 am. Pluto reached the degree of NYC’s Sun in Capricorn in 2013 and catalyzed chaos around physical and financial infrastructures, public transportation, and political corruption. Worldwide challenges have included hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes, droughts, wildfires, and unnatural anomalies due to environmental abuse. Capricorn rises in the USSR for a constitution that promises political and economic upheaval. Pluto teaches us where responsibility begins and accountability ends. Bottom lines do not justify the means. What gives Donaldemort and his Dementors the right to take us for granted, squander our planet’s natural resources, ignore science, and abuse our respiratory and circulatory systems, bodies, minds, and spirits? How can we allow them to deny responsibility and not expect serious karmic consequences? Why can’t we see the handwriting on our walls? We must wean ourselves from hate, fear, and terror, and choose loving leaders.

SAGITTARIUS & PSYCHE

Outer planets transform personal psyche and catalyze massive changes in collective psyche as they change sign.  Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transited through Sagittarius in the 20th Century. Paradigms of politics, commerce, and religion shifted dramatically.

Uranus passed through Sagittarius from 1981-1988. Gender in politics was shaken up. Sandra D. O’Connor became the first Woman elected to the Supreme Court. Geraldine Ferraro was the first woman nominated by the Democratic Party for Vice President. Benazir Bhutto was the first female prime minister of a Muslim country in Pakistan’s first free election since 1977.

Uranus brings sudden and unexpected upheaval and disaster. The space shuttle Challenger exploded on takeoff in 1986, while millions watched in horror on their TV screens. While Greenpeace was protesting France’s nuclear testing, their flagship Rainbow Warrior was bombed. Ronald Reagan created “Star Wars”, an absurd and overly expensive national defense idea. George Bush Sr. was the first sitting Vice President elected as president since 1836. IBM introduced personal PCs. AT&T’s communication monopoly ended via the Department of Justice in 1974.

Sagittarius rules publishing and religion. In 1989, they darkly merged as Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini sentenced Salman Rushdie to death after he published The Satanic Verses. Even though it was a novel, Rushdie’s tales of good and evil incited riots in India and book burnings in England. Rushdie’s literary success fueled and stirred the cauldron of Islamic hatred.

Neptune transited Sagittarius ~ 1970 to 1984. Idealism of the 60’s transformed to pessimism with a marked lack of trust in national institutions. The war in Vietnam united masses of skeptical protestors, ready for confrontation. The Arab oil embargo of 1973 created a major energy crisis, supposedly teaching US not to take energy for granted, and conveniently catalyzing the opening of the controversial Alaska pipeline.

Neptune can be imaginary, visionary, and illusionary. Neptune also rules false prophets, delusion, deception, and victimization. Richard Nixon was the first US President in history to announce his resignation in 1974. New York was the first city to be bailed out of bankruptcy by the federal government in 1975. A religious paradigm shifted when the Catholic Church elected its first non-Italian pope in four centuries. Mother Theresa accepted the Nobel Peace Prize in the name of the poor. In 1979, Televangelist Jerry Falwell founded the ‘Moral Majority’, which has become the ‘Immoral Majority’.

Neptune rules chemicals and drugs. The first test-tube baby was conceived out of the womb and bathed by the sun in Leo in 1978. Genetic engineering created new horrors for theologians, religious fundamentalists, and extremists. Environmentalists protested industries creating “Acid Rain”. ‘Three Mile Island’ derailed several major nuclear energy projects in 1979. The World Health Organization announced an end to smallpox. Crack cocaine became popular. A deadly epidemic was officially named AIDS in 1981.

Pluto visited Sagittarius from 1995 to 2008 and created a recipe for upheaval and transformation in politics, big business, and religion. Political extremism, corporate greed, religious fanatics, supremacism, fundamentalism, and terrorism flourished and thrived in fertile soil. Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated by a right-wing law student. The Middle East peace process was disrupted. Great Britain finally let go of Hong Kong. President Clinton resumed diplomatic relations with communist Vietnam. Hundreds of thousands of Black Men flocked to Washington to march for freedom. It was the first time in 40 years that Republicans controlled congress. Y2K was not end time.

Sex scandals rocked the Catholic Church.  The House of Representatives impeached and later acquitted Bill Clinton for lying about his sexploits. Two students killed themselves after murdering twelve students and a teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado. The Unabomber was caught and sentenced to life in prison. The Oklahoma City bombing established large-scale terrorism by Americans on our soil. After 9/11, governmental power transformed, giving leaders the ability to supersede human rights and civil liberties. A large political machine preempted war without world consent. Lairs of corporate foxes tended the hen houses while packs of political wolves herded the sheep.

Saturn returned to Sagittarius on December 23, 2014, after nearly thirty years. Astrologers predicted Saturn would wield powerful influence for several years as it transited from Sagittarius to into Capricorn. Saturn rules responsibility, structure, discipline, focus, time, bureaucracy, big business, and many established institutions. Saturn altered energy, transportation, communications, food, housing, healthcare, law, politics, and religion during its transit through Sagittarius, for better and worse. Fossil fuels and fuel guzzlers are no longer sustainable. Their best uses and life cycles must be pre-determined and legislated. Substituting money for values and religion for spirituality is absolutely unsustainable.

Sagittarius rules transportation. Sagittarians enjoy prestige and luxury. They leave racing to Aries and showing off to Leo. The lords of cars must shift their paradigm of profit before people. The whole industry needs to become more spiritual in their outlook and truthful in their actions. Perpetuating the illusion that overly powerful gas guzzling vehicles are glamorous and sexy enforces the delusion that it’s OK to deplete our planet’s natural resources and pollute ourselves. How do chemical companies get away with pretending their products are good when they’re not? Do we really need hundreds of horses galloping under our hoods? Transportation needs to be redesigned like light bulbs, for present and future good health. We all profit by raising social and environmental consciousness. As our globe warms, cools, floods, and droughts, fossil fuel prices are artificially repressed to prevent their sustainably minded competitors to lay a substantial foundation. We need fuel efficient, non-polluting, practical, and economical transportation or we’ll drive ourselves to extinction.

We can go wherever and whenever we choose in the comfort and safety of our cars. The hidden costs are usurious and insidious as we guzzle gas, fight oil wars, and deplete our Mother Earth’s finite natural resources. We pollute her body, circulatory, and respiratory systems. Carbon dioxide and monoxide hover everywhere by degree. Toxic smoke and smog poison our arteries, stick to the walls of our veins, and coagulate like cholesterol on the way to a coronary. Varicose veins link bloated arteries that feed festering sores we call cities. We must shift our false paradigms and steer ourselves from death and destruction toward a more hopeful and helpful future of clear intent and healthy actions.

The human race has become a race against bad shit happening. Greed, prejudice, and avarice are unhealthy symptoms of partisan political philosophies, fundamentalist religious ideologies, and extremist social behaviors. Why do we still wander aimlessly in barren wastelands as we worship golden calves and defend sacred cows? Our global family must see the forest from the trees. We need to become healthier in more sustainable ways. As Uranus journeys through Taurus from May 14, 2018 to Nov 7, 2025, I pray for a rebirth of practical good sense, of accepting responsibility, and choosing nobility, dignity, integrity, ethics, and virtue.

Why do we take for granted what’s truly valuable and then have to lose it to value what we had? Why choose imbalance and impermanence over healthy values and accepting the corresponding responsibilities and fees for having a healthier self, planet, and world? As Jupiter transits Sagittarius over the next year, may we acknowledge the true consequences and real costs of climate change. Our fate truly is in our hands.

SCORPIO & PSYCHE

When outer planets change zodiacal sign, personal psyches are transformed forever. Collective psyche transforms correspondingly. Pluto normally takes twenty years to change sign. While Pluto was at home in Scorpio from 1984 to 1995, it doubled its speed and potency. Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune’s journey through Scorpio in the 20th Century changed our views of Sex, Violence, and Death forever.

Scorpio’s eighth house rules sexual behavior and other people’s money. Sex scandals ousted Senator Gary Hart, while greed and hubris caught up with televangelist Jim Bakker. Bakker was convicted of defrauding his followers out of 158 million dollars.

Homosexuals exited closets in masses in the late 70’s and early 80’s to become a topic of everyday conversation. HIV prevention and condoms were promoted on national TV to stop the spread of AIDS.

Scorpio can be healthy and evolved like a Dove or Phoenix who rises from the ashes. When Pluto passed through Scorpio, sexual fantasies, perversion, and untimely demise flourished and blossomed in its dark underbelly. Too many Scorpions had too many horrible hypocritical secrets. They sold their souls to the Devil by finding pleasure in corrupting innocence. The seduction turns Scorpion on, but the betrayal gets him off! Predatory preachers raped the innocent souls they were entrusted to protect in an unholy alliance with the Devil ~ a crime punishable by GOD as an eternity in HELL.

Since Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 10, 2017, many greedy misogynists have grabbed many pussies, repressed many women from exercising their reproductive rights, prevented others from voting, condoned lying, and then rewarded the worst of sexual behaviors. The human race has become a race against bad shit happening. VOTE!

Faith healing was certainly no help to the AIDS epidemic. Fundamentalist religious fanatics, poisonous partisan politicians, and insane ideologues had plenty to hate and lots to preach about. Imagine the hubris of a ‘CHRISTIAN’ leader who thinks he can steer hurricanes to punish non-believers, who calls non-Christians ‘Termites’, derides immigrants, Islam, Muslims, and discriminates against colors… a complete idiot promising nonsense!

1980 put the first professional actor in Whitehouse after the lowest voter turnout ever. ‘Reaganomics’ didn’t ‘Trickle Down’. The Reagan years were like ’20 Mule Team Borax’ and ‘Death Valley Days’ revisited. When Oliver North exposed the Iran Contra scandal, he and Reagan played their roles as well as possible, managing to walk away quietly and relatively unscathed from political scandal.

Other significant violent happenings were manifesting. Police bombed the headquarters of a black radical group called MOVE. Terrorists from the Palestine Liberation Front seized the Italian cruise ship Achille Laura. Terrorists bombed Pan Am flight 103, killing 259 passengers and 11 villagers in Scotland.

Neptune regenerates or degenerates. Neptune (Pisces) transited Scorpio from 1957 to 1970, generating sit-ins and peaceful demonstrations and degenerating into race riots, terrorist bombings, and hijackings. New opportunities for spiritual transformation and growth benefited very few. Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by `two of her own bodyguards’. Racial tensions rose as Bernard Goetz, the subway vigilante, became a folk hero after he shot four young black men in NYC. He said they were robbing him. They claimed they didn’t provoke him. White justice prevailed.

Neptune rules dreams, illusion, and delusion. It was an era of escapism. Political unrest catalyzed the assassinations of John Kennedy, Malcolm X, and Martin Luther King Jr. Many thousands of men went into exile rather than serve in the Vietnam War. Lots of confused and fearful people consumed all sorts of drugs while others devoured pornography and violence. Oral sex and contraceptives became popular while indiscriminate sex became normal.

Uranus (Aquarius) transited Scorpio from 1975 to 1982. It was the end of the Vietnam War for America and the beginning of terror for Cambodia. A senate committee admitted that ‘ASSASSINATION’ was modus operandi in U.S. foreign policy.

Irreverent political humor nourished hungry audiences. Saturday Night Live flourished and blossomed as poisonous partisan politics sparked a revival of satire and parody. As Uranus transits Taurus (values) and opposes Scorpio (death & transformation), it catalyzes irreversible changes in our personal and collective psyches, philosophies, and purpose. Hopefully, when we’re done with Fascism, we’ll never take what we value or have failed to value for granted again!

HAVES must learn they can no longer afford not to value ‘have-nots’ or to take them for granted. Have-nots must be loved and appreciated for any and all good things that aren’t about money. Our Founding Fathers saw us all as their children and truly wanted what’s best for all of us (despite their personal prejudices and programming). Thanks to them, we can say what’s on our minds and share what’s in our hearts via our first amendment rights!

Scorpio symbolizes powerful women, sex, and death. Persephone and Helen of Troy were Scorpios. The Episcopal Church ordained its first woman in 1974. Barbara Walters was First Lady News anchor on ABC TV in 1976. Scorpio rules reproductive functions. MIT scientists created the first synthetic gene in 1976. The first test tube baby was conceived outside of the womb in 1978. The first Death sentence in ten years was carried out when convicted murderer Gary Gilmore went before a firing squad in 1977.

Scorpio rules garbage. No one ever accepted our infamous Garbage Barge that ferried 3,100 tons of toxic waste 6,000 miles before returning to NIMBY, to be incinerated for all to breathe. Speaking of refuse, Fidel Castro’s “Freedom Flotilla” embarrassed US when we realized that Castro had unloaded his underworld criminals, mentally ill, and other misfits on us. Over 1,000 “No Nukes” protesters were arrested on Wall Street on the 50th anniversary of the 1929 stock market crash. Imagine 1,000,000? 10,000,000?

In 1975, the ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ became an instant cult classic. Its message was ‘anything goes’ (as long as you’re not hurting anyone). Punk Rock was a rebellious, unconventional, and nihilistic expression of Uranus in Scorpio. Ultrasound became an alternative to x-ray radiation. Palimony suits became popular. IBM introduced the personal PC and transformed communications for all time. Performance art became a popular and exciting venue for all creative artists. Personal gender identity needs to be accepted by all or we will face the deep and dark consequences of our fear and hate.

The only guarantees in life are Death, Taxes, and Insurance. Insurance is an 8th house matter. It implies we have something of value (2nd house) to protect. You can purchase Insurance, which is a contract that guarantees one party pays another party against a specified loss. You’ve got to pay to play. When premiums are paid, we worry less about the costs and consequences of bad shit happening to family, health, home, car, property, or whatever we value that’s insurable. Everyone’s health must be insured.

Insurance is premeditated gambling. The insured shoots craps and always loses, even when she wins. Your insurance agent is your bookie. Your insurer is the casino. The house is always favored financially due to statistics, permutations, combinations, and probabilities. High risks are wedded to high stakes. You can check your prospects by examining your actuarial tables and know your odds by observing your premiums.

Insuring is often confused with ensuring or assuring. Life is not ensured or assured. Spraying crops with pesticides ensures fewer bugs, weeds, and funguses. It assures we eat, drink, breathe, and apply some degree of toxic chemicals to our lungs, guts, hair, skin, mouths, nails, toes, genitals, or whatever. Investing Social Security in the Stock Market doesn’t insure, ensure, or assure the market won’t collapse. Employees of Enron believed their pensions ensured and assured a secure retirement. Conserving energy ensures we will have more energy and waste fewer natural resources. Drilling for oil in wilderness does not insure we will have enough oil. It ensures and assures we will have environmental, social, political, and planetary health challenges and problems. Offering vengeance as a solution to violence assures more violence.

Life insurance protects the living. What’s the premium for a graceful and painless final exit? How much $$$ are the last months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds of your life worth?  Everyone dies. If you want to learn more about Dying with Dignity, read Final Exit by Derek Humphrey. When your time comes, having a logical, practical, painless, and peaceful alternative to facing a future of dependency, lack of awareness, lack of love, pain, or poverty in old age is a good idea. Or not…

“Dr. Death” (Jack Kevorkian) inspired me to create my very own ‘Dr. Death Do It Yourself Kit’. In case I ever decide to end this insanity of trying to be sane in an insane world, or lose my health, I plan to leave this planet as peacefully and painlessly as possible and to leave others with as small as possible a mess to clean up. An oxygen mask attached to a tank of helium is my means to an independent, painless, peaceful and non-messy final exit.

Mixing politics, religion, and profit with our 2nd amendment rights will surely backfire on the NRA. Laws that enable us to own and use weapons will be regretted when have-nots with guns become fearful and desperate enough to use them. Boundaries between sanity and insanity will blur, and haves will be looking over their shoulders while attempting to protect their families and possessions from the ravenous masses that are scraping for pennies at the bottom of the barrel while watching haves living like royalty.

We’ve become dinosaurs. Our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual futures and the future of our planet are being threatened with chaos and extinction. Our Constitution has armed us (whoever is ready, able, and willing to protect ourselves, our families, ideologies, and beliefs) and given us permission to exercise our rights to declare open season on tyranny, eradicate greed, and remove the predatory Tyrantosaurus Hex.

LIBRA & HANDS

You don’t need a Libra sun, moon, planets, aspects, or houses to be Libran. As Thinking Types, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius hands have square palms and long fingers. Libran hands frequently have long clear downwardly curving unobstructed headlines that fork at the end. Librans can see every side of an idea or situation. That’s one reason they’re notorious for resisting making up their minds. Anyone who has long straight strong dominant pinkie fingers and large broad nails communicates clearly, frankly, and effectively. Strong index fingers are common on ambitious hardworking managers, directors, and leaders. Dominant bottom and middle phalanges are well designed for banking, real estate, and food businesses. Dominant top phalanges make great public speakers, lawyers, directors, journalists, educators, and religious leaders. Librans tend to be idealistic, romantic, aesthetic, and refined. Thinking types in general dominate PR, political, publishing, marketing, sales, and entertainment fields.

Wielding logic, tact, and diplomacy like Samurai swordsmen, Librans compartmentalize, analyze, and rationalize their thoughts and feelings until they achieve their desires. Having wide spacing between head and life lines reveals spontaneity, love of freedom, and a desire to initiate. The wider the space, the less the person cares what others think. Changing a Libran’s mind is like mental monopoly. Be direct and make good sense. Don’t get emotional. You’ll regret it.

Healthy Librans have firm sincere handshakes. Pink elastic skin with long graceful heart lines flow from the pinkie to the base of the index finger and embody a romantic and sentimental nature. A branch at the end of the heart line that reaches down to touch the head line means that the person may rationalize, analyze, and compartmentalize their feelings. Black and white and love and hate are cut from the same cloth, opposite only by degree. Librans with gently curving vertical lines within their life lines are lucky in love. Anyone with long vertical lines parallel to their life lines has intimate family ties and friendships. They’re wealthy in relationships.

Athena is a strong Libran archetype with powerful Aquarius and Gemini backup. She’s the Greek archetype for Wisdom and Justice. Clasping the ‘Scales of justice’ in one hand and the sword of thinking in the other, she balances ethics with action. Athena rules the strategic thinking required to win in war. Great warriors like Odysseus (Libra), Achilles (Aries), and Theseus (Gemini) worshiped Athena. Often pictured as a handsome Goddess in battle armor, she sports the shield of Intuition and supports the owl of Wisdom on her shoulder. Athena’s mighty sword is applied with icy detachment. She discards emotion for clarity of thought and cuts to the quick.

Libra is the Autumn Equinox, 7th sign of the zodiac, 7th house of marriage, a time for partnership, sharing, and giving. Librans strive for balance, idolize harmony, dislike discord, and despise unnecessary confrontation. As negotiators, they’re very decisive when it really matters. They’re notoriously indecisive when it doesn’t matter… where to eat, what to wear, and when to go… Librans can be annoyingly aggressive and vague at the same time. Most Librans prefer being frank and direct, but then they can’t figure out why some people don’t like them. ‘Nice’ is easy, but safe is not satisfying. It isn’t easy to be honest, but honesty is what makes good sense in the final analysis.

All of us have Libra, Venus, and 7th houses in our symbolism. Deep down, we know what’s true and fair. We must set ethical and moral values and boundaries in order to know right from wrong and see truth. It’s too easy to compartmentalize, rationalize, and analyze our feelings, thoughts, and actions. Some Libran aphorisms are: “Laws keep honest people honest.” “Locks keep honest people out” “Contracts are as good as the people who sign them”.  Why must we lose what we value to not take it for granted?

“Even an attorney of moderate talent can postpone doomsday year after year, for the system of appeals that pervades American jurisprudence amounts to a legalistic wheel of fortune, a game of chance, somewhat fixed in favor of the criminal, that the participants play interminably.” Truman Capote understood the truth behind the folly. It’s ironic that Libra rules our Laws and their execution. Legal power enables rich players to shirk social responsibility, manipulate laws, and justify personal and social behaviors and actions. Haves are innocent until proven guilty. Have nots are guilty until proven innocent. The American Dream is a birthright only for folk who can afford it. Poor folk will forever be scraping for pennies at the bottom of the barrel.

Librans must find a balance between ethics and honesty. Maybe a Libran knows something that would change an outcome, but fails to mention it. Philip Morris always knew cigarette smoking was unhealthy. Monsanto knows that ‘Roundup’ causes cancer. Bayer knows they’re killing butterflies. The powers-that-be in Flint knew they were poisoning the people who depend on their protection. Short-sighted Republicans care more for themselves than democracy. Our self-appointed Emperor has deceived, exploited, and manipulated the huddled masses with mountains of alternative facts, hordes of toxic pussy grabbers, and a limitless supply of poisonous propaganda.

Libras with square palms, long fingers, strong pinkies and well-balanced phalanges are well-suited for commerce. You’ll see them in chic designer clothing taking clients to trendy restaurants. Long unobstructed straight headlines are innately practical, honest, and dependable. Strong index fingers embody an ambitious strategic hardworking nature. Strong stiff thumbs along with a firm percussion under the pinkie finger reveal strong will power, dogged determination, and relentless persistence. A wide gap between head and life lines at their beginnings exposes an impatient, independent, freedom loving individual with plenty of initiative and corresponding need to take action.

The most challenging task in reading hands is learning to judge hands. One person’s long is another’s short. Your firm may be my soft, depending on the particular person. Rigorous practice (reading thousands of hands) and asking the right questions is essential to observing and interpreting human character as reflected in the topographical maps of our hands. The counseling part is another story.

Many of us behave contrary to our sun signs. Few of us are pure types. My brother, Gary is a Pisces, a mutable feeling type. Neptunian on the inside, Gary’s hands reveal a Libran character. His behavior is rooted in cardinal thinking.

Gary is a psychiatrist who specializes in geriatric clients. He’s a practical philosopher with an adventurous spirit. I used to threaten that I’d go completely nuts with age, but then (luckily for both of us), as a Gemini, I decided not to get old. Gary’s analytical and logical thinking graciously and gracefully merges with his intuition and compassion, enabling him to nourish and heal the most stressful of clients and situations. Pisces gives Gary a natural empathy that many Librans lack. They’re too busy analyzing, rationalizing, and compartmentalizing their feelings to trust them. Gary is a devoted husband, father, son, brother, friend, human being, and an awesome psychiatrist.

The first two hand illustrations in this post belong to Gary’s daughter, Andrea, my niece, a healthy Libra and person. When the sun sign and hands match, that can be very good or very bad or both depending on what the person chooses to do with their choices and free will.

LIBRA & PSYCHE

Autumn Equinox 2018

Outer planets powerfully influence our collective psyche as they change sign. They also catalyze massive transformations in our personal psyches. We can observe our inner and outer worlds transform in cardinal, fixed, and mutable modalities. Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto transited Libra in the 20th Century. Forces of good and evil clashed as we tried to find a balance between optimism and pessimism, tolerance and intolerance, justice and prejudice, and progress and regress with little social or political stability.

Uranus transited Aries (opposite Libra), arriving in Taurus May 2018 and transiting into Gemini in April 2026. Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn are impelling poisonous  politics by deceiving  voters and conning partisan politicians with empty promises fueled by the hubris, hatred, greed, and gluttony of a philosophically and spiritually bankrupt Emperor.

Our future is at risk. While Neptune (Pisces) transited Libra from 1942 to 1957, Nuclear weapons proliferated. The first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. President Truman ordered the Atomic Energy Commission to produce a much bigger `Hydrogen Bomb’. Now, Neptune in Pisces has provided us with a deluded Emperor with his finger on the button.

Why won’t the United States see that we’re all in this together? Our obligation is to ourselves and each other. We have a responsibility to nourish future generations. We need to cultivate healthy behaviors, values, thinking, feelings, will power, physical habits, relationships, creativity, philosophies, purpose, dreams, and spirituality.

When will fear stop, accountability start, decision begin, and taking charge take place? Is it possible to prevent ‘bad shit from happening’ instead of always racing towards it?

The United Nations was born on October 24 1945. Their Charter was ratified by China, France, Soviet Union, United Kingdom, and the United States. International cartels firmly established themselves. A European Common Market was recognized. Civil Rights Movements flourished. Group Psychology became popular.  A World Council of Churches was established. Mother Francis Xavier Cabrini, founder of Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, became the first American Citizen to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church.

The Devil is hard at work in the church. He confuses and tempts priests with tainted money and evil fantasies while giving them the permission and power to physically and spiritually abuse and corrupt sacred souls they were entrusted to protect. No matter our religion, we’re one big dysfunctional family. Each of us has a unique story.

‘As Above, So Below’

“THE ALL is in ALL, while ALL is in THE ALL”

“The Lips of Wisdom are closed, except to the Ears of Understanding”  Hermes

When Neptune left Libra in 1957, the bestselling novel was Peyton Place, focusing on sexual intrigue in a small town. Allen Ginsberg was a popular poet writing, “I have seen the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness”. People born between 1942 and 1957 tend to be overly idealistic about relationships. ‘Haves’ must learn what the ‘Have Nots’ have… to strive, accept, compromise, sacrifice, and let go.

Uranus (Aquarius) transited Libra from 1968 to 1975. The spirit of nationalism shifted from optimism to pessimism. Faith in progress turned into disillusionment in national institutions and world progress. The period was marked by useless popular inventions like a pet rock, giant platform shoes, and shag haircuts. Punk Rock, Primal Therapy, and Streaking became popular. The Supreme Court Legalized Abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy (Roe vs. Wade). Is it time for some Matriarchy for a change?

Uranus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn have enabled ultra-conservative forces to conspire to bias a Supreme Court that will curtail Women’s Reproductive Rights. Bumbling Bureaucrats choose Money over Values, promote Religion over Spirituality, embrace Greed over the Good Health of our Planet, and offer generous helpings of Fear, Confusion, and Delusion as alternative facts instead of Honesty, Integrity, Dignity, Courage, Strength, Grace, Virtue, and Wisdom. Our health and our Planet’s health are controlled by too many pussy grabbers, fearful haters, and greedy gluttonous shitholes. We must be in charge of our own well-being.

In 1968, Governor George Wallace, a racial bigot from Alabama, announced he’d be running for President on a newly formed American Independent Party ticket.
